I became a caregiver in August 2009 for my father, Brian. After a series of tests my father was diagnosed with early - stage of cancer. I have always taken care of my father because my mother was never around to provide support to the family. His condition is still in the early stages, but I am worried about the future. This situation brought my father and I closer. His condition has made me realize that this is career move that I wanted to peruse. I am not a caregiver by career but by choice. I am a caregiver that truly cares about helping others and want to make a difference in the lives of seniors and their families. I am caring, punctual, respectful, outgoing, honest, patient, professional and organized.

I am excited to be considered for the open position of caretaker that this company has posed. Over my long career in the maintenance. I began working in caretaking more than three years ago, during which time I have advanced to hold more sophisticated. I became a caregiver, because I saw how much a home health aide helped my grandmother through her cancer, it inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I am currently a full-time student athlete at the University of Cal State LA. I enjoyed being a caregiver because it gives you the opportunity to learn about people, and their different backgrounds. My biggest achievement thus far would be me starting a mental health group at my university and letting thousands of students talk to me when things are rough. I went through depression and once I was okay I realized how many people suffer in silence and it was my duty to help bring awareness and make sure students had the resources to keep a good state of mind.In my current position, I maintain an efficient and organized work mentality as I assist in the care of several patients, dealing with mental health illnesses, chronic diseases, dementia, Alzheimer's, disabilities and etc. I have a knack for problem solving and work well independently and with little oversight. I am compassionate, outgoing, and resourceful. I am a self-starter and excel at housekeeping, engaging clients with light activities, and meal preparation. I am familiar with caregiver protocols and learn new procedures quickly. I hope to contribute to your patient care goals.

I am punctual, very compassionate about what I do for people who have lost some independence from a life event. Compassion for the family involved to help lessen the burden. I like to tell stories that help the family get to know who I am and I love to hear stories from them as well. I have made Caregiving my Career and take it seriously to become highly regarded and recommended. I enjoy helping the patient and their families keep their lifestyles they have without interruption. I like seeing results so with that being said, I had achieved my series 6 & 63 license (which was a challenge for me) and was proud to present products that would get higher interest with low risk. I also did debt settlements and was happy to negotiate the lowest rate for my clients to settle. I work hard and with compassion whether your my customer, patient, friend or family member because I believe everyone needs help sometimes and I look past any obstacles getting it done.

Encourage patient to exercise. Review & ask dietary restrictions, preferences, & allergies. Change bed linens, replace trash bags. Always check expiration of food & medicines. Know vital information about patient's condition, treatment plan & any suggested activity.. In a capsule, it is very important to respond immediately to patient's call for assistance and/or treatment with the goal of creating a safe, effective environment to make a difference in the lives of the patient & their families. Patience is a virtue inherent in me. I always work above & beyond my duty for the comfort & safety of my patients. Im a compassionate person with a good sense of humor, i love taking care of elders with respect the way i took care of my parents, im a type of guy who has patience with people , My achievement being a Caregiver when my patient had stroke ,his left arm and legs couldnt move, I used hoyerlift when transferring him from bed to wheelchair, After months of exercise he began to walk with assistance with a walker

What makes me feel great about being a caregiver is that the client is loyal,and always happy.
