I've been a caregiver for 5 years started off working at rescare where i worked in group homes supportive living sites and day programs. What i loved most about being a caregiver is the fact i'm able to make someone smile everyday knowing that i play apart in someone's day going better makes my day better. I love taking my clients out into the community i love crafts and doing different activities. I also would help prepare my clients meals which i'd say they love i'm a pretty good cook if i may say so myself. I then left rescare after 3 years worked at easterseals at their day program due to covid i had stopped working there. Then worked at Compass residential where i've worked as a caregiver and a supervisor is my current job now. Id say i'm proud of myself for not giving up some days are harder than other but i continue to keep pushing because i jobs love what i do.

I left there to go into fast food and was there till my my childrens father came down with ALS. I had to take of him and become his caretaker. For me helping people get the quality and still have their dignity is very important thing for me.

I have been in healthcare since I was 17 years old. I had to care for my grandmother at a very young age but I would never trade it for the world! The memories, the stories, it is amazing how much the elderly can have an affect on your life! I have had several jobs outside of healthcare and NOTHING makes me happy except being a CNA! It's my calling! It's what I know and love! I enjoy life so much more knowing I helped someone else in need and was there for them! Wrinkles tell amazing stories!
