I've been a caregiver for 5 years started off working at rescare where i worked in group homes supportive living sites and day programs. What i loved most about being a caregiver is the fact i'm able to make someone smile everyday knowing that i play apart in someone's day going better makes my day better. I love taking my clients out into the community i love crafts and doing different activities. I also would help prepare my clients meals which i'd say they love i'm a pretty good cook if i may say so myself. I then left rescare after 3 years worked at easterseals at their day program due to covid i had stopped working there. Then worked at Compass residential where i've worked as a caregiver and a supervisor is my current job now. Id say i'm proud of myself for not giving up some days are harder than other but i continue to keep pushing because i jobs love what i do.

I love helping people it's one of my love languages. I think my desire to wanting to be a caregiver stated when I took care of my grandmother with cancer up until she passed away. I'm passionate about taking care of the elderly or individuals with mental and physical disabilities. I have recently had to take care of my own elderly father who passed in sept from CHF. The older population really touch my heart. I love learning about who they are as individuals so many times they get labeled as elderly and the caregivers I have seen just ignore the fact that they are humans too! I want to know who they are what they achieved and I love seeing their picture albums about there lives in spare time if there is any haha. I enjoy all of it! I'm proud of gain in g multiple certifications along with Cna and hopefully I'll get the RN behind my name one day.
