Hi I'm Andrea I want to tell you a little about me. I'm 37 and Married with a stepdaughter who I call my own. We have a cat named Jaspurr. We are located in Norman, Oklahoma. I believe my personality traits that would make me a great caregiver are openness to feelings, straightforwardness(being "frank, sincere, and ingnous") Warmth (being affectionate and friendly) Postive emotions, Competence, Outgoing, Willing to communicate with all parties involved with the person I'm caring for. Patience and understanding. I'm very outgoing and love to talk and learn new things. What attracted me to being a caregiver is from August of 2003 to May of 2004 I took a CNA Class and worked a few short months at the Arbor House in Mustang before getting married for the first time. I moved out of state and did not continue to follow a dream I had of becoming an RN so I have decided to do caregiving and work my way to an RN. I wanted to help those in need and felt that was what attracted me to doing caregiving. What I enjoy most about caregiving is helping those that need it most and for families to be able to not stress or worry about loved ones knowing they have someone like me that can keep their loved ones taken care of and keep them company and just someone to sit with them and listen to stories and many other things. A personal achievement for me is owning my very first brand new car 2021 Kia Rio. I feel another achievement for me is all the training I have taken the time to do on MyCNA Jobs and plan to do more. I have lots of certificates if you have any questions regarding any training please feel free as I was not able to add them to my profile. I'm working on trying to take another CNA class. I however am trained as a caregiver and have many other certifications that I could not add.I have several different certifications. I have worked in skilled nursing facilities for 12 years and home health for 4 years. I love working with the elderly and have a strong desire to help people live the best life as independently as possible. I want to help people stay in their own home as long as possible. I have been a certified nursing assistant for about 6 years, I absolutely love it. I do daylie activities for those who can no longer do day to day things for themselves . Such as transferring, oral care, dressing, transferring to commode and or bed pen . Changing briefs (depends), cleaning up, assisting with showers, daylie range of motion excersises, medication reminders and just whatever needs to be done . I have lots of experience, I have never had a complaint from anyone I have ever taken care of. Making life easier and more enjoyable for those who struggle with day to day activities is my goal. I love to make people happy. I have a big heart and it goes a long ways. (:
