I have always been the caregiver in my family from my grandmother who suffered a heart attack when I was 11 up to 2016 when my mother-in-law became ill with Parkinson's. It gives me a sense of fulfillment when I make my clients smile...whether it is from cooking their favorite meal or just listening to their life stories. Since I have trained in two different modern health facilities, I am very aware of what to watch for to prevent medical emergencies. My previous clients' families have nicknamed me "Angel" because I always want to make their stressed lives easier...and to create an environment where they can ENJOY being with their loved ones again. I am proud that I am very close to obtaining my CNA license (taking the Oklahoma State Exam in August), having taken 16+ senior homecare courses and training with the very best homecare agencies. I am looking forward to using my God-given talents to help seniors enjoy their lives to the fullest.

Hi I'm Andrea I want to tell you a little about me. I'm 37 and Married with a stepdaughter who I call my own. We have a cat named Jaspurr. We are located in Norman, Oklahoma. I believe my personality traits that would make me a great caregiver are openness to feelings, straightforwardness(being "frank, sincere, and ingnous") Warmth (being affectionate and friendly) Postive emotions, Competence, Outgoing, Willing to communicate with all parties involved with the person I'm caring for. Patience and understanding. I'm very outgoing and love to talk and learn new things. What attracted me to being a caregiver is from August of 2003 to May of 2004 I took a CNA Class and worked a few short months at the Arbor House in Mustang before getting married for the first time. I moved out of state and did not continue to follow a dream I had of becoming an RN so I have decided to do caregiving and work my way to an RN. I wanted to help those in need and felt that was what attracted me to doing caregiving. What I enjoy most about caregiving is helping those that need it most and for families to be able to not stress or worry about loved ones knowing they have someone like me that can keep their loved ones taken care of and keep them company and just someone to sit with them and listen to stories and many other things. A personal achievement for me is owning my very first brand new car 2021 Kia Rio. I feel another achievement for me is all the training I have taken the time to do on MyCNA Jobs and plan to do more. I have lots of certificates if you have any questions regarding any training please feel free as I was not able to add them to my profile. I'm working on trying to take another CNA class. I however am trained as a caregiver and have many other certifications that I could not add.I have several different certifications. What makes me a good caregiver, is that I will always put my patients first. I'm caring, loving, patient, and I always be there for them when they need me. What attracts me I'm being a caregiver is because I love doing it. I fell in love with that helping my grandma when I would go visit in Texas. It is what got me into pre nursing school in high school and then I became a CNA and worked at a nursing home and I loved my patients. If they needed something I would make sure to get it if something would make them happier or smile I would go the extra mile for them. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being there for them. One of my most personal achievements that I'm proud of is when I decided to go in healthcare or childcare. I love giving. I have 3 years personal and professional caregiving experience. I take pride in serving the best caregiving experience I could possibly give, I care for my clients and believe they should be treated as one of my own family members. I'm a certified mental health technician, and I enjoy being able to help and motivate others to be the best version of themselves they could possibly be.

I have been told by everyone I have ever cared for and their families that I am a very positive and energetic person. I have been a caregiver for about 10 years and love what I do.
