I have worked with the elderly for quite some time. I appreciate our older people, and I tend to get along with everyone I meet. I have many years of experience in this field and never get tired of doing the work. I have realized as the years have passes how undervalued older people have become, and it makes me sad. I have also seen how prevalent depression is in the elderly and how the right person or gesture can help. i worked in assisted living and seen how a supervisor was treating the clients and together we fought to get her out. I have also seen them mistreated by physicians who won't treat them due to their age. i think everyone regardless of age should be treated with dignity and respect. Our older people have so much to offer if you just take the time to listen. I once thought that I couldn't do this job anymore, but i realize it is where my heart and passion is

I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is the instant gratification I get to see someone living and thriving despite their current life adjustments. I also love being a caregiver because I love to put people I care about and their needs before mine. I was raised from a young age that if you give back your life will be all uphill. I am most proud of when I worked at my local nursing home, that I was able to provide postmortem care for one of my residents and be humble, respectful and still incorporate as well as care for the needs of my residents' family as well as the resident even in the most darkest of time.

I am very outgoing, and enthusiastic, and my ambition is to help others as much as I can and in any way I can. I didn't know I was made for a career in this field until I was given my first opportunity at another agency, I loved all of my objectives and duties and was fulfilling. Being able to help others with things they cannot do themselves is what I enjoy the most about my position. I am personally proud of the effort I put into this one career, and I hope in the future to be able to expand more with the company I work with.
