I have worked with the elderly for quite some time. I appreciate our older people, and I tend to get along with everyone I meet. I have many years of experience in this field and never get tired of doing the work. I have realized as the years have passes how undervalued older people have become, and it makes me sad. I have also seen how prevalent depression is in the elderly and how the right person or gesture can help. i worked in assisted living and seen how a supervisor was treating the clients and together we fought to get her out. I have also seen them mistreated by physicians who won't treat them due to their age. i think everyone regardless of age should be treated with dignity and respect. Our older people have so much to offer if you just take the time to listen. I once thought that I couldn't do this job anymore, but i realize it is where my heart and passion is

I'm a very caring person. I became a caregiver/CNA because I enjoy being able to help people of all ages. I have been a CNA/caregiver for 17 years. I have worked in nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living communities and done private home care. I feel that being a CNA/caregiver has helped me to become a better person and is a way to give back to the communities that I work in.
