My personality traits that would help me be a great caregiver would be compassion, patience, and dependability. I would treat my residents as if they were my own family members. What attracted me to being a caregiver would be liking to help others and taking care of my elderly family members. What attracted me to being a care giver is that my mother was a nurse and I love how she cared for people. I took care of my aged grandma & my mum before they passed. I also took care of an aunt's physically challenged daughter for 4 years. All these and more helped develope my interest in the caring profession. I became a Nursing Assistant when my grandfather was diagnosed with Cancer it was hard on my grandmother, but once I stepped in with bathing, helping with light housekeeping around the house or just letting my grandmother get out for an hour or two her load was lightened it was a blessing. I felt giving back to my grandfather for all the love and support he has given me all the years was truly from the heart, he later passed away within three months then my grandmother was diagnosed with Cancer and I stepped in for her with just myself and my little children and again it was a blessing but challenging at same time but God gave me strength through my trail and made me strong.If i can give that to everyone I come in contact with am complete because it's from the heart helping someone with a bath, dressing them for the day, of just having a conversation means a lot to so many.. I love what I do and can give another individual
