Good day, my name is Kenyatta Davis. I am a mother of 7 children, one of who has special needs. She became dependent at the age of 7, she had a tramatic brain injury. I have experience in trach care, g-tube feedings, personal hygiene, administering medication, senior care, and more. I am currently a home health aide, and caregiver for 2 home health care companies.

I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where i have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel i can get along well with a variety of elders. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I like doing a variety of tasks in a day. I don't ever say, "that's not my job" but instead like pitching in to do whatever is needed. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. I take pride in your attention to detail. I don't want a desk job; I like being physical in my job and using my body as well as my brain.

I have been a home health care provider for more than 20years. I love the idea of taking care of people who can no longer take care of themselves. I am kind & patient. I am understanding of their constantly needs & moods. I understand their sadness & loneliness. I am also a good listener. In the past my patient's families really appreciated the fact that I was so dependable & trustworthy. They never had to worry about their loved ones when I was on duty. I am most proud of my ability to stay with one of two patients for an extended period of time. I was with one for 10 years until he passed away and with my last one for nearly 7.

It's about giving of myself to my clients and having a sense of the quality of life concerning the lifestyle they have. When I come into their presence a smile comes on their face. I became a caregiver because of my mother's influence. Listening to her talk about her clients was interesting and heart warming and sometimes I felt sad and wanted to help, so I did! Am knowledgeable about human relation which stems from my education in sociology as an applied course during my university education. Am a compassionate nurse with a very caring personality. What attracted me to being a care giver is that my mother was a nurse and I love how she cared for people. I took care of my aged grandma & my mum before they passed. I also took care of an aunt's physically challenged daughter for 4 years. All these and more helped develope my interest in the caring profession. I derive a very profound job satisfaction by offering a helping hand to those who cannot help themselves. I became a Nursing Assistant when my grandfather was diagnosed with Cancer it was hard on my grandmother, but once I stepped in with bathing, helping with light housekeeping around the house or just letting my grandmother get out for an hour or two her load was lightened it was a blessing. I felt giving back to my grandfather for all the love and support he has given me all the years was truly from the heart, he later passed away within three months then my grandmother was diagnosed with Cancer and I stepped in for her with just myself and my little children and again it was a blessing but challenging at same time but God gave me strength through my trail and made me strong.If i can give that to everyone I come in contact with am complete because it's from the heart helping someone with a bath, dressing them for the day, of just having a conversation means a lot to so many.. I love what I do and can give another individual
