I am a Navy Veteran. I received the Purple Heart for my efforts in Afghanistan. I've also received multiple Navy medals and achievements while serving in Iraq, Kuwait and here in the states. I have learned to be patient, compassionate, thorough, very dependable, trustworthy, honest and attentive. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful daughters. Zoey is twelve and Makenna is ten. My husband is still in the Navy. He is a Submarine IDC (Independent Duty Corpsman) and he makes me proud everyday. Hi! After witnessing my mother's decline with dementia in an assisted living facility, I KNEW I could provide better care to the aging with more compassion and intuitiveness. I followed my heart to become a caregiver and took the 75 hour training required by Washington State to be a licensed Home Care Aid. I felt this would attest to my professionalism, commitment and integrity toward the care I could offer, and DO offer! I truly love my job. I am respectful, calm, attentive and a good communicator. Listening and understanding are important for everyone involved so I like to keep notes and communicate by phone regularly and often with family and others. This is in the best interest of the client-a loved one aging in their own home. Because of my experience I often have suggestions to help make things easier for the client to stay in their home more comfortably, safely and sometimes more fun! I'm very resourceful! I work well as a team member- whether it be with the family or as a member of a caregiving team for the client. Hi! I'm a Native Hawaiian, born and raised in Hawaii and I moved with my family to Washington State 37 years ago. I have 5 adult children, 14 grandchildren, and a new great-grandson. I have tried many things including volunteer firefighting and EMT work, I'm an artist and love to cook and bake. My career has en impasses many years of working with kids of special needs from pre-school to adults including the medically fragile. I do some volunteer work at a Conservation District garden and I lead and teach in my church. I draw and paint, quilt and do pottery and I love to play the guitar and sing. I'm trying to be healthy with diet and exercise as an example to my family and for my own good. I built a barn home on 2 and a half acres a few years ago and, I garden. It's a pretty awesome life.

I'm a caregiver with 23 + years experience predominantly caring for clients w/quadriplegia, but I also have experience with elder care and dementia. Most recently I have been working with a variety of clients as a caregiver through a service in my local area. I am honest, smart, hardworking and empathetic. I enjoy helping others. Caregiving offers a unique opportunity to continually take stock of what's truly important in life. For those with cognitive impairment it's often helpful & fun to participate in activities such as simple puzzles, coloring, birdwatching, building with Legos, or going for a walk & getting some fresh air outside. I'm also proud of making adventures & dreams come true for clients with limited mobility or other care needs. One such achievement included training a service dog (Great Dane) for a quadriplegic client, which involved extensive protection work + showing (& placing) in both the obedience and confirmation ring. Another time we drove the Baja together (with a full staff) & went big game fishing in Mexico. I treasure the memory of those adventures, but I also find satisfaction helping with the more mundane activities of daily living. I enjoy cooking, good company & conversation.

I am a very loving person that has excellent listening skills, I love to cook and clean. I am very dependable and observant to know what needs to be done with cleaning, organizing, shopping and cooking. I love listening to stories that people may want to talk about.

Fun, easy going. I'm also more of a quiet person. I love one on one situations. I have always just been a natural caregiver. I have 8 siblings and we have always had other family members living with us. Caregiving is second nature for me. We have 4 kids, from 18yrs to 5yrs old. What attracted me to being a caregiver is simple; I love helping everyone. What I enjoy most about Caregiving, is there is nothing better than seeing a client or resident smile, laugh, joke, and tell life stories.
