What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves. I have a broad range going from helping those with terminal illnesses all the way to those who just need extra assistance around the house. There is no job too big or too small for me to do.

Hello I'm Kate! I'm currently a Sophomore nursing major at Plattsburgh State University. I have a lot of experience working with the elderly from my job at the Teresian House in Albany, NY and from helping my 92 year old grandmother. I'm CPR certified, and am a Certified Feeding Assistant. As a part of my fall semester, I am currently doing clinical rotations in a local nursing home to gain more experience. I will be in home from college Dec 16th- Jan 24th and again May 18th- August 24th. I love working with the elderly population and I am proud to say I am quite good at what I do!

I have worked in places from the ER, to the hospitals, nursing homes and in people's homes. I believe your loved one has the right to live the best life they can even when they are not feeling their best, battling a sickness or are elderly. It's not my job to be their boss as I work for them. I enjoy seeing them still do whatever they can to live the best life they can. I love helping people it gives me a sense of joy and warms my soul. It makes me a better person, it has taught me patience and to enjoy every moment of everyday even when it's not the greatest of days. I am proud of the mom I am. My children have the same compassionate spirit as me and enjoy helping people. I truly love what I do and the community of people that I have the pleasure to share my time with.

I started out with the desire to be a caregiver after helping to take care of my great grandmother as a child. Also my mom and grandmother are both nurses. I enjoyed being able to help people who need help. What makes me good at what I do is my compassion. I love people, all kinds of people. I have taken care of all ages, from all over the world. I learn who they are, where they are from, what they like, and what they believe in. And from there I respect all their wishes and do everything I can to ensure they are happy and well taken care of. I stay calm it helps with dementia I'm friendly I like to kid around. I like being around the elderly. I love all the new things I learn from them the stories of there life. It's great my grandmother was a nurse and when she retired she opened her home to military vets and I would help her make beds clean there rooms and talk with them. I received my C.N.A. in 98.
