I am a National Certified Patient Care Technician.I have experience with people diagnosed with dementia, strokes, cancer, C. O. P. D, total care, quadriplegic, diabetes, high blood pressure, neuropathy, CHF, and other heart conditions, Multiple sclerosis. I'm sure I missed a few, will update later. I have been a CNA for 30 +years. Ten or more of those years as a Caregiver, also. I have experience in long-term and short-term care. I have training in home health, hospice, palliative care, private sitter, and companion care. I work as a attendant now with At Home Healthcare, United Healthcare and a Diamond Professional Caregiver with CareLinx. I've taken the academy classes with CareLinx so I could refresh my skills. I have passed my background screening and I am CPR certified, too. I enjoy working with seniors because some of them have lived some adventurous lives. My greatest achievement is making a difference in their lives and they tell you so. When your day is over you know you have done your best. You can look up and smile.

I am 19 years old. I have being a caregiver since I was 17. I love helping others. I enjoy assisting residents with their daily activities. It make me happy knowing they are happy and enjoying their day. I try and help out as much as I can because I know once upon a time they were my age.

I have been a caregiver off and on for over 25 years and I love what I do! I have been told I have a "old soul" and that I have a special way of getting people to smile and feel comfortable. I got into this line of work after helping my mother care for my grandparents that both had Alzheimer's and Dementia. This work is very rewarding for me because I not only FEEL like I make a difference in my clients lives, but, it also shows by the smiles on the faces of them and their families. I not only assist with daily living activities and house keeping, but I also provide companionship and support. I have the ability to fit in just like a member of the family most times and it is very important to me that my clients feel respected and safe and loved. Each day will begin with a huge smile and a quick sit down visit and conversation that hopefully includes some laughs and more smiles and when the day is done I will give a round of hugs and more smiles until my next visit. I like making a difference in people's lives and strive to ensure that my clients never feel lonely or unsafe. Noone should ever be made to feel embarrassed or afraid especially by the people that they are trusting to provide them with care and that is one of the most important reasons I have for being in this profession.

I began caring for my own Mom when I was 9 years old. She had many health issues and I enjoyed providing care for her so much so that I knew then that being a caregiver is what I wanted to do in my adult life.
