I love working with the elderly they're break listeners I love to listen to them I love to talk to them play games with them they got so much wisdom I like to learn from them

I am an Occupational Therapy student going through my last rotation before graduation. I'm caring, kind, and attentive. Through school, I have gained skills that will make me a competent and mindful caregiver.

I was a caregiver/provider from January 2003 to August 2019. I completed a certified nurse assistant course in January 2003, as well as 12 hours continuing education yearly for 16 years.

I am a calm and patience. I like to try out being a caregiver as a new experience. I like to assist people with there day to day task and person to speak with them. I am not a big talker, but I like to listen and give my viewpoint one on subjects to keep the conversation going.

I am an excellent listener, I am very alert of my surroundings. I pay very close attention and monitor my patients every move. I am alert with time management as well. I was previously CPR and First Aid Certified. I have my own transportation am a very responsible person.

I'm reliable, including arriving for work on time and fulfilling all duties on time. I respect students, and patients privacy and dignity. I work with a positive demeanor and kind tone of voice. I'm very patient and considerate when working with a student or patient. I'm known to be very trustworthy with students, and patient care. I enjoy working with people, and animals. I like having a one-on-one interaction with adults. I've always enjoyed taking care of my elder family members, and co workers. I've always had an open heart to people that require some additional help. I like older adults and tend to connect with them very well. My favorite part about being a caregiver, and special needs driver is seeing the elders/children thrive and be happy. I love to see that my efforts and care can make a difference, and make a positive impact on a person's day and well being. One of the special achievements that I'm proud of is the way I can change someone's attitude or day. I have the ability to talk with people and make them feel comfortable and safe.

I help patients with daily activities, accompanying them to doctor appointments, cooking and serving meals, performing housekeeping duties, running errands, and providing companionship. I also make sure they get the right medication on time. I also shower them and have experience with down syndrome, Cather tube, wheel chair, special diet, deaf people, autism, seizures, and low iron level patients. for almost 2 years without calling a single day off.

Cared for my mother, grandmother and father when they became ill until they passed.

My personality traits or expertise are that I try to communicate well with the elderly and try to be as patient as possible to be able to understand their needs. What attracted me to be a caregiver was that I lost my job as a clerk due to personal reasons years ago and well I had to work to support myself and that's when I started as a caregiver and actually I've enjoyed it. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I love socializing with them and make them feel that they belong here in this world other than them being depressed about not having anyone to communicate with them as far as their families who are working and not having time to visit with them. My personal achievements was being able to do just about everything possible with the elderly since they all have different moods and are used to having everything their own way. All elderly have different needs and moods every single day so you have to be able to adjust to their needs or communicate with them as best possible and like I said you need to have alot of patience.
