I come from a family of individuals who have dedicated their life to the bettering of less fortunate individuals. A mother who has worked with mentally handicapped children for over 20 years, an aunt and uncle who currently care for and assist mentally handicapped adults, and a cousin who also works with elderly persons to better their standards of living and independence. This instilled in me a sense of compassion for those who cannot care for themselves, and motivated me to join them in this mission. My favorite part about being a caregiver, has been those times when I was able to help share an experience with someone who otherwise may have never been able to enjoy it again in their lifetime. I also enjoy gaining insight from the wisdom that my clients have obtained over the course of decades before me. I especially am drawn to persons who have served in the armed forces, and lived through some of the roughest times in world history. They are the true hero's in this life, and often don't get the attention they deserve. While I recognize that certain tasks involve some level of discomfort for many individuals, such as bathing and even simply inviting a stranger into ones home, I have become accustomed to these struggles, and have learned how to minimize that apprehension, while still maintaining the clients decency and feeling of privacy. My goal is to provide the support needed to give back whatever the client feels they have lost, and give peace of mind to family, knowing that their loved ones are safe even when they cannot be there for them.

Over 20 yrs experience caring for people of all ages and abilities. 5+ yrs as a CNA in PDX first working in a small facility for people w/ HIV/AIDS then onto temping at LTC Facilities all over PDX. 18 years working for UCP, OR w/ adults w/ CP & intellectual disabilities. 5+ yrs as an "Enhanced Worker" HCW doing in-home care for Aging & Disability Services. Now certified in WA as a HCA to work in-homes. Additional interests & education include: Cosmetology, Naturopathic Assistant & Juice Bar Manager. Study Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan & Meditation. Some massage school experience too. Strong interest in Nutrition and Whole Foods Cooking & Herbs. I believe we are here to help and learn from one another and I chose caregiving because it allows me to really thrive while hopefully uplifting or at least easing the lives of those I work with.

Caring for others and their well being is a passion of mine. I have been in the medical field in some fashion for the past 40 years. I have extensive knowledge and experience with the in home care arena. My charge has included children with special needs, adults and seniors with varying medical complications. Trustworthy, reliability, and respectful are qualities of mine. I also possess the gifts of compassion, mercy and empathy; and have extensive experience in hospice care as well. Additional experience includes PT< OT<ST<RT.

I have been a caregiver for fifteen years and am very qualified. I enjoy assisting others with there needs and when they can no longer take care of themselves. I have worked 25yrs in the medical field from activity director to CNA and medication assistant. I have my BSW in social work and CNA. I love working with older clients. Im Honest, dependable, caring. I currently work for a home health agency and have 2 longtime clients. I am looking to find one or two more. In 2014 I started caregiving. It wasn't something I planned on doing or dreamed about. I was in need of a job and a friend introduced me to the position. I have loved it ever since. I love getting to know people and their life experiences. Everyday is something new. All the different care plans and people are exiting to me. This helps me learn something new regularly and keep things from being mundane.

Hi I am Heather I recently returned back to my favorite career. I took a break to start my farm and it is going very well. I raise AGH pigs along with chicken of various breeds. I now have enough free time to work as a caregiver again. I have worked in facilities and in home care. Home care is my favorite because clients are able to stay in their home. I love all aspects of being a caregiver it is very fulfilling. I really enjoy being able to help others. I have my OSBN CNA license. I look forward to caring for your family.

Im friendly, loves to make people smile and feel welcome. I don't have much caregiver experience my last job was my first in the field. I gained alot of knowledge for the little time I was there. Learned for to care for those who need me most and I love how it makes me feel to give back to my elders. Im only 25 years old and ive worked retail and fast food since I was a teen. I decided to switch up and branch out to better opportunity. Im a pretty bubbly person and my favorite thing to do as a caregiver is brighten up someone elses day even when mine is blue.
