Over 20 yrs experience caring for people of all ages and abilities. 5+ yrs as a CNA in PDX first working in a small facility for people w/ HIV/AIDS then onto temping at LTC Facilities all over PDX. 18 years working for UCP, OR w/ adults w/ CP & intellectual disabilities. 5+ yrs as an "Enhanced Worker" HCW doing in-home care for Aging & Disability Services. Now certified in WA as a HCA to work in-homes. Additional interests & education include: Cosmetology, Naturopathic Assistant & Juice Bar Manager. Study Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan & Meditation. Some massage school experience too. Strong interest in Nutrition and Whole Foods Cooking & Herbs. I believe we are here to help and learn from one another and I chose caregiving because it allows me to really thrive while hopefully uplifting or at least easing the lives of those I work with.

I have worked 25yrs in the medical field from activity director to CNA and medication assistant. I have my BSW in social work and CNA. I love working with older clients. Im Honest, dependable, caring. I currently work for a home health agency and have 2 longtime clients. I am looking to find one or two more. In 2014 I started caregiving. It wasn't something I planned on doing or dreamed about. I was in need of a job and a friend introduced me to the position. I have loved it ever since. I love getting to know people and their life experiences. Everyday is something new. All the different care plans and people are exiting to me. This helps me learn something new regularly and keep things from being mundane.

Hi I am Heather I recently returned back to my favorite career. I took a break to start my farm and it is going very well. I raise AGH pigs along with chicken of various breeds. I now have enough free time to work as a caregiver again. I have worked in facilities and in home care. Home care is my favorite because clients are able to stay in their home. I love all aspects of being a caregiver it is very fulfilling. I really enjoy being able to help others. I have my OSBN CNA license. I look forward to caring for your family.

I've been in the healthcare field for about 16 years. I have experience with elder care and DD care. I have managed group homes and started my own in home care agency. I am very passionate about what I do as I feel I was put here on earth to make a positive impact for those I serve and care for. I feel that if I can somehow make someones life more enjoyable or bring a higher level to their quality of life then I have done my job. These are our parents, grandparents, friends and family who need quality care and I know when I am with them, they are receiving genuine love and care. I have been in this field for 23 years.. I absolutely love what I do. I take pride in the fact that I can help somebody stay healthy and happy with quality care, in their own home . I began my career in my teen years, taking care of my grandparents before their passings, and knew then, that this was my calling. The relationships and bonds I have been blessed to experience and be part of is unmatchable, being such a special part of someone's life is irreplaceable to me, and something I cherish. I take my job very seriously, and safety is always of #1 importance to me, for my clients as well as myself. I am professional, a problem solver, reliable, and can work with any level of care needed as stages may progress, as I have worked with everything... from companion care all the way to end of life, and medical care such as trach's and respirators, etc, and everything in between.

I started in the Health industry because I experienced a life changing accident while playing football. I was paralyzed for an hr. due to a C-3 spine injury. After all the care I went through I understood how important it was to have positive energy around you I've always been that person and I wanted to help others in that have experienced similar situations as me. I got certified as CNA in 2003. Primary care for a quadriplegic. This includes bathing, clothing, prepping meals, administering meds and transportation to a variety of health care appointments. Familiar with high-pressure medical environments. I've been a helper, solver, and the last resort of difficult decisions. Being the prime caregiver of quadriplegic takes compassion, people skills, the ability to adapt as a team player while making health care decisions to best support patient needs. Making decisions for the health of a disabled human is nothing to take lightly.
