Hello, I am 39 y/o and I have been working in the healthcare field since 2008. I love and enjoy doing private home care because I love being someone who gets to see the smile on my clients face by being comfortable in their home.

I take pride in the job that I do. Taking care of someone is personal to me. We are all going to get old one day and need help. When you can see things from their point of you, it creates a great working enviroment.

I've always wanted to take care of people . I've watched my blessed grandmother do it all her life. I'm the perfect caregiver for any family because of my patience and flexibility. Personally I feel I do more than just look after and attend to my patients needs. I nurture, and foster a bond that makes them almost a part of my family and feel closer to their family. Very sweet, compassionate, and caring. I love to help those who are in need. My grandfather was a paraplegic and had home assistance and ever since then I knew I wanted to be a caregiver. It is a reward for me to see my patience pleased with my work and when I make their day.

While working on my Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Secondary Education at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, my paternal grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Having been a certified home health aide (while my children were young), I was the natural choice to care for my grandmother. While caring for her, I studied everything I could find on dementia and attended care conferences and symposiums in the tri-state area to learn as much as I could about the disease process and adaptations for care. When she passed away in 2005, I began looking for career options working with this very special population. I have been an Assisted Living dementia programmer/trainer/support group facilitator ever since. I have also had extensive experience with hospice, MS, dementia, and paraplegic care through Bayada Nurses, Inc. in Toms River, NJ. I have been a resident of Danville, VA for 4 years now; transferring to a sister building of the same assisted living facility that I worked for in NJ. In October 2014 I completed my Bachelors Degree in Human Services and Gerontology, summa cum laude, from Kaplan University. My goal is to become a fulltime dementia programming teacher; training healthcare providers, community service workers, lawyers, doctors, and emergency care providers.
