My name is Cathy, and I am a dedicated, mature and responsible caregiver. I graduated from the Home Health Aide program at Ashworth College with a 3.91 GPA. I initially trained to be a Home Health Aide to be able to better assist an elderly neighbor. I quickly realized how rewarding it is to help others, and through CareLinx, I have been able to take additional courses that allow me to better assist seniors in their homes. I am available for medication reminders, light housekeeping, meal prep, bathing, mobility assistance, and various other duties as needed. I am honest, kind and compassionate, and would love the opportunity to assist you in your home.

I have outstanding customer service skills. I love working with people at any level. In order to connect with people I feel one should have patience, tolerance, empathy and compassion. What attracted me to be a caregiver was when I had the experience to be a caregiver to my dad. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is you form a bond with the patient, they become part of your family. Being able to put a smile on a patient face or the patient looks forward to you coming back the next day. Another achievement is graduating from college this May 2022

I am a very calm, outgoing, kindhearted, caring, & give able person when it comes to this field. Doing this type of job attracted me to be there for clients that aren't able to do things on their own anymore, & in need of the help that comes with the client situation. The most I enjoy about this job is it shows a person that if you don't have anyone in the corner of your situation, someone will always be available to come in & fix the problem no matter what. Very sweet, compassionate, and caring. I love to help those who are in need. My grandfather was a paraplegic and had home assistance and ever since then I knew I wanted to be a caregiver. It is a reward for me to see my patience pleased with my work and when I make their day.

My personality is out going. I Love to sing to clients when the down or up. I Love helping them with say to day activities around the house. I wanted to be in the Healthcare field since I was little girl I saw my mom do it. She my hero. I enjoy the most being a caregiver is I Learn something New everyday from my client and it excites me. While working on my Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Secondary Education at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, my paternal grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Having been a certified home health aide (while my children were young), I was the natural choice to care for my grandmother. While caring for her, I studied everything I could find on dementia and attended care conferences and symposiums in the tri-state area to learn as much as I could about the disease process and adaptations for care. When she passed away in 2005, I began looking for career options working with this very special population. I have been an Assisted Living dementia programmer/trainer/support group facilitator ever since. I have also had extensive experience with hospice, MS, dementia, and paraplegic care through Bayada Nurses, Inc. in Toms River, NJ. I have been a resident of Danville, VA for 4 years now; transferring to a sister building of the same assisted living facility that I worked for in NJ. In October 2014 I completed my Bachelors Degree in Human Services and Gerontology, summa cum laude, from Kaplan University. My goal is to become a fulltime dementia programming teacher; training healthcare providers, community service workers, lawyers, doctors, and emergency care providers.

I am interested in obtaining a part time C.N.A. position in your home. I have all the qualities to be a valuable asset to any C.N.A. position. I especially enjoy geriatrics and the mentally challenged. I am a caring and empathetic person by nature. I listen more than talk. I am helpful to client and family to create a pleasant and enjoyable day for everyone. I also have a sweet natured, clean &pleasant 2yr Lab mix I rescued and call her my therapy dog. She is no trouble to bring on overnights or longer shifts.
