What attracted me to being a caregiver would be my parents with my mother having multiple hernia replacements, and my father being a dialysis patient, on top of ongoing health conditions far as diabetes etc. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is that I'm able to help someone who isn't capable of preforming their daily task on their own, knowing that I am capable with my skills and ability to provide to someone who is in need makes me nothing but honored. I first became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2001 after my first child was born. I then realized the joy I had while caring for individuals and learned to love what I did. The one on one care with individuals is the best, especially when I see their faces light up when I walk into their room. It makes me feel and know without a shadow of a doubt that I am doing my job correctly. I've learned to have patience and my compassion and empathy have increased tremendously. I have continued my knowledge with an associates in Medical Assisting. My next goal is to continue my education and receive my BSN. I currently am not working and stay at home with. I have four kids now and a loving fiance that supports my dreams in becoming a nurse.

I became a Caregiver because my grandmother was sick and I helped her until her death. It motivates me to help others like my grandmother. I enjoy being a Caregiver because not alot o people can generously care for a stranger, know there sick and not take things personal. My personal achievement I am proud of is becoming a better person for the people around me. I have been a Caregiver for about 7 years. Being that I have done other work, I enjoy taking care of others and spreading happiness. Keeping my patients happy will make my job easier.

I am currently working on my education on earing my register nurse license. Moreover, it all started in a health class in middle school. I choose to volunteer in nursing home and that is where my heart fell in love with the elderly. They are very fragile, they need care, and I just feel this is a way to give back to them for all they did throughout their lifetime. I love to hear all of their stories, spend time with them. In some nursing homes, the nurses are always in a hurry to get their job done and they have no time to sit and listen. Some of the elderly appreciate a little bit of time to hear them out. I have encountered many elderly in nursing homes that do not have any family or have stopped coming for visits and they feel lonely, that brakes my heart. Some felt bad because they couldnt care for themselves. Therefore, it is important for someone to help the elderly while encouraging their independence yet helping them so they don't feel like a burden.
