My entire life, people have been drawn to my light, loving energy, compassion and sense of humor. Most often I have heard that my presence speaks volumes, I'm a ray of sunshine and an earth angel. I feel our elders are a treasure and should receive the help and support they deserve. After decades working in a corporate setting I decided to leave and pursue a more heart-centered career. I had been drawn for years to the idea of working with elders and those in hospice and once I started training I knew I had found my life purpose. Regardless of age, I enjoy being a caregiver! I love knowing that I make a difference in peoples lives through my work, volunteering and my 'being of service' way of being. I have many personal achievements that I'm proud of, but the one that touches my heart the most is that I allowed myself the gift of time and self-reflection to step into my life purpose, being of service in elder care, end of life care and other related areas that bring together all of my education, gifts and life experiences. First off I am a huge hearted person! I don't need many strangers and my love for other individuals shines Bright through everything that I do. I'm very detail oriented and always willing to jump in and learn something new do what it takes to complete the task at hand as thoroughly and as efficiently as possible. And being a caregiver has been something that I have done most of my life my mother worked in the medical field and started in respiratory and moved into her MD license and so growing up in that type of environment it was just something that came naturally to me. Being a caregiver is just an extension of my family basically, is what that means is that I take those that I'm providing care for and love them and care for them just as much as I would is if they were a member of my family. What I love most about being a caregiver is simply that I am able to help somebody in need and not for me is the most rewarding feeling that I could receive from the position.

I am 48 years old and spent 20 years in the Corporate world working for E*Trade and Discover. I was unhappy. So I left CA to care for my mom. I decided to get my business license and promote myself. I genuinely love people!! Especially the Elderly. I have met and maintained such wonderful people with so many stories and of all different lifestyles! My second passion is cooking. I am a huge animal lover! I grew up surfing in CA and skiing in Alaska. I have worked with people with all different types of ailments or challenges, Dementia, Stroke recovery which requires a lot of physical work, Parkinson's and Hospice. I am 28 years old and have been working as a caregiver since I was 18. Being of service to others is what I live for and I enjoy being a companion for the elderly helping in any way I can to take the pressure and ease off whomever I may be caring for. I've worked at Washington Regional hospital on cardiology unit and the ICU floor. I've worked in several nursing homes and home health. I enjoy home health the most because they get to be in the comfort of their own home. I've worked in doctors offices as a medical assistant, a Certified nurse assistant and a PCT (patient care technician). I don't do this kind of work for the money I do it because my heart is in it to help the ones who need it.

I have been a caregiver most of my life. I started my career as a CNA and eventually became an LPN. I took an early retirement from nursing in 2015 to help raise my grandsons but have continued in the home care field. I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. My life changed, as I knew there was no better way for me to contribute to others by helping them daily. I enjoyed their company and looked forward to making a difference!
