I have experience working in assisting living environments. I also been working in in- home care settings. I worked +2 years in working with disabled adults. Skilled in assisting patients with daily activities. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver was when I would see my mom caring for her dad and she would have a hard time and she didn't know how to find help and I would try helping her even if it was helping to set up clothes for the day or helpings in making a meal. So now that I'm getting older I want to be prepared to one day be able to personally care for my parents. I'm looking to leverage my passion & commitment to clients well- being to improve their quality of life. I always care for a client the same way I would care for a family member I have compassion, empathy and understanding that they still want to be independent and assist when needed. Helping others and bringing joy to their lives is a accomplishment anyone can feel proud of.

My name is Dorcas matongoh I was born and raised in east Africa, Kenya. I came to the USA in20111. I'm a female. I went to Annrose school of nursing and I graduated as a CNA. My first job was at Balfour memory care in Louisville. I then worked at Frasier meadows skilled care, Broomfield skilled care . Good Samaritan hospital and lastly at Junipervillage where I'm working now. . I like working with the elderly because I took care of my grandmother who was sick and I have passion working with them. I have been doing in home care, facility care. For about 15 yrs. I can connect well with others. Compassionate about my clients needs and wants. Building trust and friendship is important to me. Hi I'm Laura, and I love helping elder people. I love getting to know their past and also I'm very passionate helping them.

I feel like I am a good caregiver because when my dad turned 80 he needed extra help because he started forgetting some stuff. Started to get Alzheimer's. So I began helping him with medication, cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands, doctor appointments, bill paying etc. Sometimes I would find myself at his home 4-5 times a day answering questions over and over again or just to keep him company. He had some amazing stories of his life so I overstayed my visits. It was great! He passed away at 90. Then my sister started having medical problems when she turned 65. I did the same for her and would spend a lot of time with her as well. I cleaned her home, did her laundry and took her to doctor appointments. I kept her company at the hospital as often as I could. We spent a lot of time on the phone. It helped so she wasn't so bored. I enjoyed the time I spent with both of them. It made me feel useful. So after all the help I gave to both of them, I started to look into Caregiving. It's a great career. To help others is great!
