I have experience working in assisting living environments. I also been working in in- home care settings. I worked +2 years in working with disabled adults. Skilled in assisting patients with daily activities. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver was when I would see my mom caring for her dad and she would have a hard time and she didn't know how to find help and I would try helping her even if it was helping to set up clothes for the day or helpings in making a meal. So now that I'm getting older I want to be prepared to one day be able to personally care for my parents. I'm looking to leverage my passion & commitment to clients well- being to improve their quality of life. I always care for a client the same way I would care for a family member I have compassion, empathy and understanding that they still want to be independent and assist when needed. Helping others and bringing joy to their lives is a accomplishment anyone can feel proud of.

I feel like I am a good caregiver because when my dad turned 80 he needed extra help because he started forgetting some stuff. Started to get Alzheimer's. So I began helping him with medication, cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands, doctor appointments, bill paying etc. Sometimes I would find myself at his home 4-5 times a day answering questions over and over again or just to keep him company. He had some amazing stories of his life so I overstayed my visits. It was great! He passed away at 90. Then my sister started having medical problems when she turned 65. I did the same for her and would spend a lot of time with her as well. I cleaned her home, did her laundry and took her to doctor appointments. I kept her company at the hospital as often as I could. We spent a lot of time on the phone. It helped so she wasn't so bored. I enjoyed the time I spent with both of them. It made me feel useful. So after all the help I gave to both of them, I started to look into Caregiving. It's a great career. To help others is great!

I consider it an honor to take care of the elderly they have some amazing life experience. I am responsible timely respectful. I offer music relaxation care for the whole person keep close contact with family and inform them of concerns.

I am a compassionate,kind patient, trustworthy and reliable person. I was attracted to caregiving because it is a job that has the potential to to make a difference in someone's life. I enjoy interacting with them and taking care of them makes me feel like am part of the family. Hello, I am a 37 year old mother of a boy and a girl who loves to have a connection and friendly relationship with not only my family and friends but my clients as well in order for them to be comfortable in receiving the best care possible that I can give. Being a mom, I work best with being in an environment that is clean and organized but not only that, I can easily multi task and handle situations that may be unexpected at times which can often be the case with caregiving. I feel that since I was raised with a close family, and my grandparents help watch and raise me taught me to appreciate how much our elders do for us while they are capable of it. If they are no longer able to take care of themselves without assistance , I feel that is what we as caregivers are here to do. I hope that one day if and when I ever need the favor returned that I will have the genuine caregiver that I strive to be. And the satisfaction of helping people is what makes me enjoy being a caregiver on its own.

My name is Melissa. I have been working with Elderly and Disabled people since age 9. I started by Volunteering at a Nursing home ,and then I volunteered to work with disabled people of all ages. I knew from a small age that I wanted to care for people of all types. I have always had a special passion for The Elderly. I have worked in the Human Services field for over 17 years. I have a solid background of working with TBI and psychiatric clients within a residential setting. I have letters of recommendation from several clinicians, doctors, psychiatrists and a program director within the state of Colorado. My wife and I are semi-retired, and I am not one to sit at home. I very much love meeting and helping people. So, I am here to help you in the best way I can. As we all are getting older, we focus on our new challenges in life and sometimes miss out on solutions that can make us feel happier than we expected. I'm shy but always ready to work , im fast at learning on the job or anything i do . I feel like being on time , not calling off and always showing up for my residents makes me a great caregiver. Taking care of my grandma who has cancer and my mother who has had many surgeries has attracted me to being a caregiver. I enjoy being able to help and take care of others .
