I like to be there for someone that cannot care for themselves because it is not easy to live a life like this when you cannot do things for yourself that you may have once been able to and cannot now. I have been caregiving since the year 2000 and just have a compassion for people. I am a certified medical assistant and also earned a certificate of phlebotomy. I am currently working toward my associates degree and have one semester left to complete. I plan in the near future to take classes to be a licensed practical nurse. I have 5 kids that are ages 17 to 23. I have a chiweenie named neeko that is 4 and he thinks he is a real baby and so spoiled.

Hello. (I am just starting out with Carelinx )I have been a caregiver pretty much my whole life. My first child was born with a host of health issues as well as ASD and extreme ADHD. Professionally I've been doing it for about 5 years. I started taking care of my father as he aged and provided his hospice care. Then I did it professionally after his death for a friend who hired me because I know how to navigate the va health system. I then started it professionally after relocating to MO. I am a great caregiver because I am just naturally a very caring & giving person to everyone in my life. Caregiving is the only work I've done since graduating high school in 1998 & I would like to do nothing else in life as a career. I've worked with people of all diversities from school age to old age. I worked at Daybreak an adult daycare while my sons were little and enjoyed the adults that attended the day facility. I also drove them home each night and helped them into their homes. On Saturdays we would drive around and provide them lunch. Many of the older people at the facility were unable to cook. My mother is getting older and needing care so I've learned a lot.

I just recently moved to Springfield, do to my job at Expedia but before this desk job i was always in nursing homes and taking care of the elderly and i miss it and want to do it again as a part time job. I absolutely love the elderly (granted i've been beat up a few times) but there are always ups and downs in this field and honestly that's why i love it.
