I have always been a caregiver, taking care of my grandparents, my aunt before she was transferred to a nursing facility. My aunt had numerous health issues. I also took care of my husband, he had two major surgeries last year, he had to learn to walk again. During the process of caring for my husband, I realized that I enjoy helping people and I resigned from law enforcement and I am currently working as a caregiver part-time for Comfort Keepers of Florence SC since November of last year. I'm proud to say that I took good care of my husband and he is getting stronger every day, caregiving gives me the opportunity to give back to our seniors, I enjoy putting a smile on their faces. Hello, I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 20 years. I've always had a passion for caring for those who may be in need of healthcare services and assistance with maintaining dignity and as much as independence as possible. I am CPR certified, up to date on all vaccinations including COVID. Hello, my name is De'Shayna, I go by shayna for short. I attended The Academy for Technology and Academics where I studied health science and received my CNA license in 2015. I have since worked full time in a nursing home for two years and hospital for two years. In my free time i took up some home health jobs and did some hospice work as well. I love what I do, because not only am I there to care for someone I'm there to give them companionship. Someone to talk to. Someone to look forward to.
