I love taking care of people. I was born in American Samoa, learned how to cook at an early age. Love cooking, cleaning, organizing and being around people. I had the opportunity to take care of my parents when they were old and in doing this I realized how important it is to give a helping hand to People when they need it most My personal achievement that I'm proud of is the work experience in : Bed/Wheelchair Transfers, Dr's Appointments, medication reminders, walking, meal preparation, Errands, Transportation, Shopping, Alzheimer/Dementia and much more. I have worked as a live-in/live-out CNA caregiver, and in a facility. I have a high school diploma, current CPR, First Aid Medication Technician and CNA I have also taken care of children in a facility set up, as well as a family setup

I have a passion for helping others. I wanted to make a difference in the life of someone who was ill. Being able to bring some happiness to those in need. Being chosen as a lead aid, to be able to train new caregivers.

The knowledge of CNA and CMA, Over 10 years and the experience ,makes me a great caregiver. My great personalities are am honest, respectful and empathetic. My job and my personality has always been helping people and particularly old and disabled and helpless. I am honest, hardworking, experience, passionate, driven, dependable, highly organized and constantly set goals for myself. I am able to handle multitask. What attracted me to become a caregiver, i love making a difference in a family and their love ones life. As of October 4, 2022 I'm current with all COVID-19 vaccine shots and on Oct 4, 2022 I got the newest booster shot. I have been a IP ( Independent Provider ) Hospice/CNA nurse for 10 plus years now after obtaining my license in 2011. But been a caregiver for over twenty years now. My certification includes experience working with Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Cancer, Autism, Mental Health, Nurse Delegation, Sundowner's, Stroke/Brain Bleed, Stroke with AFO brace, Cerebral Palsy, PSP ( Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) and Diabetes. I am CPR certified. I have my own transportation, non smoker, and have a clean driving record. I love working with people, but my passion is to work with senior citizens. I enjoy reading, cooking, scrapbooking, listening to music, love doing puzzles and playing with my three small dogs. I am handy in both house and yard work. The part I love most about what I do is the smiles and enjoyment that I can see on my clients faces from the care and help I give them. My most recent work has consisted of taking care of a ninety-six year old sweet lady with Dementia/cancer. I am a naturally caring person, who was raised by my grandparents, so I love and understand the elderly. I love hearing the stories of the past. I love getting to know the families and people involved in their lives. People are important and every person has value and a story to tell! I helped to take care of my grandmother as she was aging and I look back on that time w fond memories. Helping others stay in their home. Making someones life just a little bit easier can have great rewards. I took religion is college, of which I have 3 yrs. I have raised two children, and have been involved in my church over the years. I am now helping to raise two of my grandchildren which I adore! I am faithful and loyal, kind and gentle to others. I am honest and trustworthy.I love gardening, my grandchildren, and nature and all animals, especially cats and horses. In my younger years I was a CNA for about 10 years. Then helped my husband in the restaurant business for quite a few years, then went into janitorial at Hood River High Sch for awhile. I now have an additional 7 yrs (?) in caring for others. I love people! Now that I am a little older, I am enjoying taking care of the elderly and have a good understanding for what they need. I have been doing so for a number (10?) of years. I am a pretty easy going person to wk with.

In addition to the regular requirements of of a caregiver, I'm very hard working, I'm cheerful, compassionate and have extremely good creative skills in the arts and I would include cooking as an art. I like to go the extra mile and do little things that sometimes can make all the difference. For instance, putting towels in the dryer so they're nice and warm after a shower, or making sure that meals are served garnished and attractive. It's rewarding to help someone and cheer them up, see them smile ! I enjoy the variety and working with people one on one, and I enjoy working in their homes. I think the overall achievement of working with many people since 2012 is what I'm proud of. I do enjoy making them smile and laugh and taking them out of their troubles at least for a little while, while performing tasks in their home that need to be done. I do not do transfers .This means the person must be totally ambulatory. I cannot help them get up from a chair or get out of bed, nor can I reposition someone in bed. But, I do everything else. Available full time. except Friday afternoon. I can also do weekend, 24/7 shifts or long weeks 24/7.
