Serving older adults is my passion and my vocation. I consider myself a life-enrichment care partner and truly feel I am in a place of honor when spending time with those I serve. In the past 9 years, I have served older adults in various settings: those living with a variety of health conditions and physical/cognitive abilities . I listen well and nurture trusting relationships based on respect and dignity. Through my work experience in activities, as a Community Companion, and in my Gerontology studies, I have become more sensitive to the challenges facing a diverse population of older adults and am keenly aware of the damaging effects of isolation. I am committed to serve each individual and partner with them to experience joy and success in their daily life. I practice person-centered approach to address the mental, social, spiritual, and physical well-being of every individual. I am compassionate, flexible, creative, have a strong moral and work ethic, a warm and cheerful personality, and a great sense of humor. I have earned the Basic Activity Director Certificate, an Introduction to Guardianship Certificate, as well as completed Hospice Basic Training I & II. I am certified in American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED and I have an Oregon Food Handlers certificate. I can help with domestic duties including light cleaning, laundry, meal planning/prep, assist with appointment scheduling, transportation, shopping, and running errands. I can assist with bathing, offer companionship throughout the day, can engage individuals in meaningful conversations and activities based on their interests whether in-home or out in the community. I am willing to assist with specialty projects, home organizing, light gardening, and event planning. Thank you for considering me. All the best, Kim

I am a fine quality Caregiver, for I put my heart into my care. Your Mother becomes my own Mother in that I listen to her, drawing out her needs, sorrows, memories, and joys. I am able to be a strong Companion whereby I encourage and uplift the client, reducing worry with positive thinking and reinforcement. I have a good sense of humor and am pleasant to be around. My job is about my client first. How may I serve this person? How may I bring color back into my client's life? I don't use my cellphone unless emergency, but am continually active with my client in many ways, such as taking pictures, creating memory albums for family, reading, interaction ongoing. I bring enthusiasm, graciousness and contentment to any Senior. I am highly moral, protective, on time, and aware of danger. I am loyal from the beginning of my assignment to the end. The families whose Mothers I have cared for trusted me alone with their Mother, as the only Caregiver with the exception of 1 current client for whom family has 4 caregivers in place for round the clock care. I do not use the hoyer lift, nor lift or carry clients, nor give medical care or nursing. I am happy to do light housekeeping, errands, shopping, banking, meal prep, stand by assistance, toileting, showering, dressing, grooming, and give good quality companionship. I am unable to work in a smoking environment. I love animals. As well, I bring 24 years executive secretary experience to you, should you need organization or detailed tasks performed, such as filing, sorting, etc. Im interested in working for you on Tuesday through Friday, for at least 4 hours up to 8 hours daily. I will work 1 day alone up to 4 days depending upon the hours you need care. I look forward to meeting you! Sincerely, Rachel

Hi, thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me. Giving care to someone is more like being their greatest advocate, they let me know what they want, need, and can do in their lives and I do my best to achieve this with them. I am very adaptable to follow protocol, or be spontaneous within the allowed guidelines. Safety, respect, listening, assisting are all just basic musts and needs. I am pretty strong, love exploring or relaxing at home. I enjoy making those in my circle feel cared for and unconditionally accepted, it gives me a peace. While medical assisting for six years, I noticed a decline in the kind of care for the vulnerable and assisted patients - It weighed so heavy on me that I decided to change careers. I found a new passion for learning about all the diagnosis' I saw in the clinic and how people adapted to living with them daily. I took every hard case on... loving the challenges. I took as many syndromes and specialty needs as I could and that helped me learn how to approach each person as an individual no matter what their challenges were. All that said, I have many moments that I can say are my favorites, but it comes down to being blessed by those I work for. I stated earlier I am adaptable, and that means I bring a nice and varied background, but I am more interested in learning about the next person who selects me and how to weave my experiences to make their life better, maybe even fuller.. any way I can. Thank you! Vicky
