My name is Kera and I have always wanted to be a caregiver. Being a caregiver to me is a very rewarding job because you get to help make others lives easier and less stressful. It is important to me to be kind and compassionate towards others always.

I took care of my father and grandfather in there last months of life. This is what gave me the desire to become and caregiver. When covid first hit I did around the clock care for one client until she passed cause she had no family members.

I'm attracted to being a caregiver because I used to work in a nursing home as a cook an dietary aide, and seen some of them nurses mistreating the residents an it hurt because that could be anyone of my family member some day. So I wanted to make a difference in people's lives, I love people an listening to their story of life. Happiness, opportunity to grow an learn new things as well as making a long lasting companionship with the person I may be caring for is what I enjoy the most about being a caregiver. Personally completing my GED after being told I would never amount to anything, is one of my most proud personal achievements, besides become a father and raising my children the right way.
