I love being able to help clients be able to stay in their homes and provide the championship they may be needing. When covid first hit I did around the clock care for one client until she passed cause she had no family members.

I am 21 years old, I am currently out of school on winter break. I was at Kirkwood Community College for 2 years, I finished most of my prerequisites, now I am back in the Quad Cities, to get a lot more experience until I'm back at Black Hawk in the fall! I have been working with the elderly since I was 16, I have worked in assisted living/and nursing homes but I'm home care is my favorite. I like to be in their home, where they feel happy. So they can feel comfortable at all times. I like to do things that they would like to do, ( nails, shopping, eating, sewing, talking,bingo,puzzles,music, hair salon etc. The little that they might think they can't do anymore. I make sure that they are having fun! And for the ones who can't get out, I do activities in home to.

I was born In Elizabethtown Pennsylvania. Ever since i was born i have been helping in healthcare. My mother was a nurse at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, everyday after school i would go and help my mother with keeping the residents calm and happy. In 2011, my mother had my younger sister. she was born with a cardiovascular condition, and that jump started my interest in the medical field. That year in high school i signed up for CNA classes, i started working as a CNA before i even completed classes. I love what i do. I love being able to help clients stay at home and as independent as possible. I love being able to change my residents moods with just one look. Making them smile helps me know i did my job. I absolutely love everything about being a caregiver. I love helping people. I have a younger sibling with a heart condition, another younger sibling with a tracheotomy, and an older sister with an eye condition. My grandfather had diabetes and a cardiovascular condition as i was growing up. When i was in middle school, i stayed with my grandfather so i could help him take his meds, give him his insulin, and make sure he was okay. I helped take care of him up until the time he passed away. Helping people has been in my life for as long as i can remember, its all i know.
