I enjoy working as a care provider to help others achieve their daily tasks. Families look forward to having an extra set of helping hands to care for their loved ones and this is where I fit in. I'm a certified nursing assistant with more than 16 years experience in a hospital, nursing home, assisted living and private home setting. I'm well equipped to provide emotional support in a comfortable, soothing environment. I also have advanced knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia. My joy is to help clients with their daily activities like bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, feeding, also assist with transfer and ambulation. I'm also equipped to administer medication, maintained accurate records of patients care, condition, progress and concerns. Also maintained a clean, healthy and safe environment.

I began by taking care of my grandmother when she became home bound in her older age. For the past three years, I was the care taker for my mother after she suffered a stroke. The thing I enjoy the most is feeling a sense of joy and humility in assisting those in need in conducting their activities of daily living. They are so appreciative. I consider it a personal achievement when they recover and there is no further need of my services. That confirms that my work with them has improved their quality of life.

I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one on one interaction with others. I also like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. The thing I like the most being a caregiver is making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better.
