Everyone needs help from time to time. I like being that for someone, and hopefully making their day nicer, too. It's the little things that make a bad day better. I am not certified, but I have had multiple jobs as a caretaker, skills coach, and mental health aide. I have experience in most skills requested, and am very comfortable performing all care needs. I am open to expanding my skills, and will put in the extra effort and research needed. Ive had training in most everything listed, including lifting, mobility, CPR, and first aid. I am a caring and very compassionate person. That will go above and beyond for anyone. My ex-step mom was a RN and so I wouldn't get into trouble growing up she would have me Volunteer at her work with residents and from that point on at the age of 10 I wanted to work in the health care field. I also love helping people and making a difference in people's lives. I'm proud that I graduated High School and received my Caregiver and home Health Aid certification.

A few things about me and my role as a caregiver are that I'm friendly, kind, compassionate, understanding, and hard working. For 10 years, I have worked as a caregiver under two professional services, ROI in Michigan and Help-at- Home in Northwest Indiana. The services that I've performed include transportation, personal assistance, physician advocate, medication disbursement, life-skills assistance to people, of all ages, with a variety of physical and mental abilities. Credentials include behavioral, CPR, and First Aid training. I am passionate about caring for those in need giving a helping hand. Knowing I could make a difference in their life and seeing a smile on their face brings joy and purpose to my life! What inspired me to get into caregiving was my Grandma. In the beginning, she just needed help with little things. Then, as time passed she needed all around care. It felt good to help her. I saw a need that I knew I could fulfill, not only for her, but others too. A personal achievement that I am most proud of was becoming an APC (Assistant Program Coordinator). I had applied 2 other times and didnt get the job. I had to build more skills and fight harder for it and the people I loved to help. I am thankful for the experience it has helped me to be a better caregiver.

I enjoy and love to help people out whether it be errands, cleaning, cooking, tutoring, or being a companion. I am told that I am very nice and a good friend to others. Caregiving has always been a passion, starting with my own parents as they were aging. Realizing that I was good at it because people appreciated my care, I started my own business which was very successful until it became too busy for me to carry on with my growing family. I love getting to know people and their histories. I am quite good at problem solving. I have been caregiving on a private basis for over 30 years.

Since I was a child, I've loved helping other people. I enjoy working with people of all ages and circumstances. What excites me most about this position is the opportunity to help those with disabilities live happier, healthier lives.
