I practice compassion as a moral rule. My early obsession and training in philosophy and ethics might be to blame. While earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, I volunteered at various retirement homes as well as Soup Kitchens and Meals on Wheels. I find deep joy in caring for little things such as my plants and my cat, even in spite of her, well, cattiness. Some of my art draws attention to the natural environment, which was initially one of the reasons I decided to pursue cinematic arts. My training in yoga therapy has further taught me the importance of stillness and breath, as well as nutrition. My background in nutrition has taught me how to approach conversations from a clinical standpoint, and my work as an artist has taught me how to use the imagination in order to create positive and meaningful narratives for ourselves, especially as a means to cope with the later stages of life.
