I have known since I was a child that becoming a caregiver was important to me, as I got older I knew it was a part of me! To be able to help just one person maintain quality of living or exceed they're expectations of they're quality of life is both what Ive strived for and put my heart into from the beginning of my career . My mother and father both were CNA's and worked in nursing facilities until they retired, 3 of my aunts and 2 of my uncles also were caregivers, Caregiving has always been my passion. I have been in the healthcare system for 20+ years working as a CNA & Personal home health Aid. I started as a CNA working in nursing/facility)when I was 16 years old. Then I started working in their homes one on one, I'm very passionate about being a caregiver it is an important part of who I am as an individual! I feel every person has their own individual needs, I have enjoyed working with each and in their own homes to meet their own personal needs. I've enjoyed this so well that I've not went back to working in a facility based environment since, being a caregiver is a part of me and who I am.

My personality traits that make me a great caregiver is that I'm a hard worker and I pay close attention to the client needs. What attracted me to this line of work is the love taking care and nurturing to the clients. My greatest achievement is seeing the clients getting better and independent.

I am a very compassionate and patient caregiver with 22 years of experience helping to care for individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. I began providing care when a close friend of mine needed help caring for her sick mother. I worked with this sweet lady for seven and a half years in which I refined my caregiving skills. The bond that I build with all of my clients is unmistakably genuine and sweet. Over my career I have cared for 15 different people and each one of them and the experiences that we have shared has helped to enrich my ability to care for the next one. I am a very loyal caregiver. I started my career taking care of my elderly mother until her last breath. Though I put my life on hold to care for my mother, it was a time I consider to be a blessing. It began my love for care giving. The most recent Home Care Provider was for a client-friend I served for over 7 years. I cared for him up until his very last breath. I'm a great caregiver because I love taking care of people. The reason I became a caregiver was because of my grandmother and my stepmom. As a young girl I had to help my stepmom she had diabetes. She didn't take very good care of herself and had to have her legs amputated. So of course I helped her with her baths, get dressed even though we had nurse to come to our home. Then there was my grandma she had cancer of bladder so I assisted her with doctor appointment and few chores around the house. What I'm most proud of and achievement is being a great parent, terrific and loving grandmother, and a very dedicated , and loyal wife. My family is very important to me.
