My name is Wendy and I love being a CNA. I first began at home at the age of 18 taking care of my grandfather. I have over 15yrs of experience in short- term and long-term care. I also have 12yrs of Alzheimer's and autism care experience. I get the job done.

I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

Greetings! My name is Dana, and I reside in Louisa County, near Lake Anna. All of my previous positions have been either in customer service or helping others. In regards to caregiving, I have experience working with folks in a home setting where I have done things such as; help with toiletry, grooming, meal preparation, helping with mobility (getting in and out of bed), companionship ( I play a mean hand of Rummy), and some exercise (taking walks). I have previous work experience as a CPHT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) and I'm trained in medication management, I would have no problem with medication management. I want a career that puts a smile on peoples face when I help them do even the littlest of things like helping with their daily routine or even having a conversation or giving them compliments .
