Hi, My name is Amanda I've been taking care of people for over 15 year. I'm very caring and enjoying helping.

I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

I became a caregiver in 1992 in order to enter a field that I loved and that I could also help others in at the same time. The best part of the job is engaging with different people and hearing of their varying stories about life. There is so much to learn from them.

I become a caregiver when my mom got sick. I realize at that moment I will be a good aide. I love taking care of people. I really enjoy the feeling of putting a smile on someone's face. letting them know they can always count on me to be there to assist when the needs arises. I have recieved awards for my job. I have families who still keep in touch with me because of how wonderful i took care of their love ones. I have achieve so many things from being a care giver. like getting to know the different backgrounds of my clients. but my great achievements is putting a smile on their faces. Am a hardworking girl who enjoys her job as a caregiver. I have 7 years experience.

Taking of care of patients and assisting those in need is my passion. As a mother myself I treat my patients as I take of my children. I love meeting new people and taking care of their needs.

I started Caregiving over 25 years ago. I have always enjoyed assisting clients. I have worked in home health care, private duty, and caregiving facilities. My roles included caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A), Med Tech and Supervisor, and Nursing Assistant Educator. Due to my passion for caregiving, I became a Registered Nurse in 2012. As a registered Nurse, I traveled to patients' homes, wrote Care Plans, and trained and tested Nursing Assistants. I have spent the last few years homeschooling and raising my children. I miss caregiving and ready to start my career again. Even though I am Registered Nurse, I am interested in a caregiver role. I want to spend time with my clients. I enjoy helping clients where needed, while understanding independence is essential. I love the development of a relationship with my clients and families in whatever way they build. My personality includes empathy, patience, and kindness. I like to be on time and take my work seriously. When I am not caregiving, I enjoy paddle boarding, skating, hiking, camping, guitar, and life.

I'm compassionate about caring for people. I enjoy helping people. I also love to see them smile and laugh. My mother had Alzheimer's. The caregivers were important part of her life, and when they cared for her with love, it warmed my heart. That's when I became interested in caregiving I want to give back after all that was given to my mother, it was then I realize the importance of caregiving.

I love my job with compassion, work as a team, caring for elderly people. Always smiling, talk quietly and polite. I love to help everyone both children and elderly. I'm proud because I know my job

I am Courtney Thomas , a 22 year old caregiver . The things I love most about being a caregiver is how rewarding it makes it feel and also how I can easily make someone elses day just by being there with them helping them. Ive been attracted to being a caregiver since my great grandmother use to let me help her read her sugar & do her insulin shots. Im most proud of all the families whoses lives Ive impacted growing in the nursing feild.
