I was too young to remember the story but my aunt says when I was 4 years old, that I comforted and reassured her when she was crying over a breakup with her boyfriend. I believe this was the beginning of my journey to care for others. I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

I am a very dedicated person who take my job seriously, very passionate with my Job and take delight in doing what I do. Being a Caregiver is very rewarding to me and always treat my Client with dignity and respect and treat them as my own. Taking care of my dying Mother at a younger age gave me the pride to take that path and to always take care of my Client with a passion. I am very dedicated and take my job seriously. The fact that I am able to put a smile of Clients face and to take care of them with joy and pride alone fills my heart with happiness and makes me grateful each day for choosing that path. I have taken care of a lot of Client for all this years and being able to take care of a particular Client for more than 4years when Doctors had told the family She had 6 months to live a lone makes my happy. Care is not only about taking care of someone but as to how you treat the person and make them feel makes a huge difference. That made me so proud of my self because it made me realize I made a difference and I did my job as a caregiver and recognized the client as a family of my own

Hello everyone my name is Teanna Murphy, I have 9 years of expert experience in the medical field. I hold many titles/hats. To go down the list I am a CNA, med aide, aba clinician, companion, direct support professional and professional pizza lover. I have worked in facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes(youth and adults) , jails, asylums etc. You name it I've done it. I've been a caregiver for 21 years I love my job what attracts me to be a caregiver when I was 15 years old and I had to take care of my grandma the most I enjoy about being a caregiver is being able to help someone seen them smile being the light of their day I just finished my medication classes and I am currently in a GED program and I will be starting nursing school next summer to become a registered nurse
