I have worked in the school district as substitute teacher for four years. Before that I worked as a private Nanny who also did home care work with other family members in the households. I have worked a lot with children with disabilities as a home care giver and as a para professional in the school district. I ran errands, planned schedules, answered phones, took kids to and from activities, and provided meals, helped with toilet training, and bath time. I have also worked with older family members which has always been enjoyable for me. I would drive them to and from where they needed to go, help with groceries, give them medication, laundry, assisted with feedings and other needed things around the house.

I have worked with a variety of clients that have depression, multiple sclerosis, Down syndrome, diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and elder care. I was attracted to caregiving because I really enjoy helping others and making a difference in people's lives. I enjoy the relationships that have developed in my experience with being a CNA. I'm a single mom of 2 kids, a 15 yr old daughter and an 11 year old son.I enjoy working with elders as well as developmentally disabled, and have since I was in high school when I volunteered in our special needs class. I am a very caring, kind person who believes that an elder should be able to live in their own home as long as they can safely do so, and I enjoy being able to give them that ability. I was a CNA at one point, but lost my certifications due to choosing to be a stay at home mom (while I was in a relationship with my sons father). I do have some physical limitations as I can not lift dead weight, however, I am willing to do anything asked of me within my limits.
