After he recovered, I took a job at a Sentara Nursing home as a housekeeper and eventually a caregiver. I love grooming my patients and making them feel good about their appearance. Playing fun games, dancing, and laughing are my secret treats for my patients. My parents are miles away in Africa and taking care of the elderly gives me satisfaction as if they are my own parents.

Hello, my name is Tamika Jones. I have work in the medical field for 7 years as an caregiver where i enjoy to take care of the elderly and disabled. I love being a part of someone life who can't do certain things on their own for example bathing, grooming making errands and socialize with the patient. My main goal that i always provide is to make sure they are comfortable that they feel comfortable and just to put a smile upon their faces. I have 22 years RN experience in medical and surgical nursing in the hospital setting as well as 8 years in home health and hospice. My assessment of subtle changes in a client's condition and comfort in providing care in homes is a bonus to my basic caregiving skills of safely bathing, transfering, and interacting with clients of all ages and debility. You wonder why I am not looking for a RN job? I no longer want to deal with the endless paperwork and little actual client contact involved with nursing today.
