I became a caregiver because I grew up around my oldest sister who is a nurse. I love to see the smile on people faces when they feel better. I like to make them feel love and comfortable. I want to be treated the way I will treat them. I'm a friendly, good sense of humor ,hard working ,trustworthy and easy to get along with others. I am available 6pm -6am week days and any time weekends.
My personality traits that helps me be a greta caregiver is my compassion to help someone , or just to change someones day with the sound of my voice. I love making peoples days no matter what it takes . What attracted me to caregiving would be my love for people , I just love having everyone in my presences . Its a breath of fresh air and it encourages me to keep going . What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the memories of the people who I take care of . Just listening them to them really motivates me and lets me know how much times have changed . Its really interesting to learn about everyones legacy . My personal achievement I am proud of is finishing school for Licensed Practical Nursing .
As a licensed practical nurse ,I have experience in trach care, vent care ,gtube care, meds administration, working with both adults as well as babies for four years as a LPN. I love caring for others and feeling satisfied.I am a very duty conscious person, hard working person, respectful, and dedicated person.
What makes me a good caregiver is the fact that I was a nurse for forty years. I love working with people of all ages and all ethnicities. I am now retired. But I'm looking for work in a field I am experienced in; to supplement my income. I have also worked as a nurse consultant in a group home for mentally and physically handicapped patients. I have worked as a nurse in a jail and a prison caring for sick, drug addicted and mentally ill prisoners. I worked ten years as a EMT on the DC Fire department. I greatly improved my emergency skills as a nurse/EMT. I retired in 2014. Now I prefer to work one on one.
