My name is Nikki. I have been a certified nursing assistant since 2014, but have been taking care of people since 2000. What attracted me to become a caregiver was taking care of my mother for so long. My mother passed in 2006 and from then on I've been a caregiver. I am a caregiver at night for a client I have had since July 8th of 2015. I am the lead at my job, I handle the medications, doctors apts, payroll, firing, hiring and basically anything you can think of. My job isn't a job it's my life, my career. I have helped take care of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, quadriplegic, cancer, amputations, inserting catheters, condom catheters, pubic catheters, colostomy bags you name it I have done it. What I truly enjoy most about being a caregiver is leaving the clients house knowing that the little time you get to spend with them made a difference. Getting to hear the story's of their life is the most memorable. To hear a client tell you that they love you and they can't wait for you to come back .... Those are the moments that make my career the greatest career in the world.

I enjoy being with my clients! Spending time helping them stay as independent and healthy as they can be is very important me. I look forward to challenges in the work day to overcome. Being there for my clients and their family's in this hard time, be it emotional support or being the muscle for the family is something I strive for so the family can be just the family and not have to be the caregivers.

I am a Single hard-working mother of two beautiful babies. I have lived a life with a lot of sick family members that I have cared for over the years. When I'm caring for someone I'm very careful to care for them as they desire as well as in the safest manner possible. I truly enjoy knowing that I have helped someone or made their day even a little bit better! I have been a caregiver/CNA for 5 years now. I have worked in everything from mental health, to hospice, to an emergency room. I have an extremely adaptable personality and I am self motivated. I relocated to Olympia, WA from Baltimore, MD about one year ago. Currently working as a customer service professional, I am seeking a more meaningful position. I would love to give back to Washington by doing some impactful work, such as Caregiving. I have 5 years of caregiving experience (geriatric care/dementia and alzheimers) My CNA Certification is now expired, but the skills have not. I have been working as a Customer Service Representative since 2014, but I am ready to take advantage of my talent. I am really looking forward to start a new career and continue my education!
