I became a caregiver due to i love supporting others in need. I am compassionate. I am always open minded to learn different skills to maintain great quality of care and I have patience. What I like about being a caregiver is meeting new people to help them through their time of need. My personality fits the job description of being a caregiver due to understanding and going beyond to make a person happy. My personal achievement that I am proud of is continuing education in psychology. I have completed a cna program. I am also proud everyday as I work in this career field of how the patient and family feels before and after they give me the opportunity to help them. 1. What makes you a great caregiver? I prefer to let my clients and their families answer that for themselves. What I can share is that integrity, competence, and humility--putting others first--are at the core of who I strive to be --in this life. These values guide how I serve, listen, and care for others each day. 2. Why did you become a caregiver? I became a caregiver because I truly love people. Serving others feels like one of the purest ways to express genuine love--the kind described by the writers of the New Testament. As Douglas Adams said, "To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity." 3. What do you like about being a caregiver? It brings me great joy to know my care meets a client's needs and gives their family peace of mind--allowing them to rest without worry or guilt. Having two disabled family members myself, I understand the trust and vulnerability that come with allowing someone into that circle of care. 4. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? I was privileged to serve on a professional team caring for a quadriplegic client, providing full home care--meals, bathing, transfers (without a Hoyer lift), and colostomy and catheter care. I was later chosen to assist a family supporting a loved one with severe Autism and, more recently, helped provide 24-hour care for another quadriplegic client requiring advanced support. Outside caregiving, I successfully self-prepared for a proctored Microsoft certification exam and have taught myself conversational Spanish and basic Mandarin Chinese. 5. Tell us something about yourself. I'm a grandfather of four and remain physically active. I'm also a lifelong student of the Bible who enjoys gospel hymns, nature, animals, gardening, walking, ping pong, and audiobooks.

Greetings, I've discovered that regardless of someones health condition or disability everyone deserves to have a good quality life and to be happy, thats way I became a "Compassionate Caregiver" it is so important to provide compassionate care to thoughes that need caring for. One of my good friends was in a car accident that left him as a Quadriplegic, now being such a young man, he became very depress with life and I had a problem with that so I decided to learn how to care for him and I did just that. I started by being Trained by the Healthcare facility free of charge were he lived. I started class room and hands on training for eight weeks and I had taken a CPR course. I did this so my friend could have a quality life. I also taken a course on how to transfer Quadriplegic patients so that I could transfer him the correct way from his wheel chair to my car and from the car to his wheelchair and back into the facility were he was living, that alowed us to go places, Dr appointments and places he liked going to. Then he stoprd looking at his self deficiencies but instead, he started loving life once again and loving people and we made the best of things. So he begin enjoying are times together once again just like old times and thats how I became a Home Healthcare Provider.

Either way, I've always taken the "giver" in "caregiver" very seriously and as such devoted myself to the selfless care of all my clients. I take an approach that focuses on dedicating myself to ensuring not only the health of my clients but also their happiness. I am deeply committed to treating my clients with dignity and respect. My goal is to win their trust and alleviate any embarrassment or anxiety they may feel when needing assistance with bathing, toileting, grooming, or other personal care. I've cared for clients with COPD, dementia, and neuromuscular diseases to name a few. I have also worked alongside registered nurses, both occupational and physical therapists to help ensure my client's overall health. I'd be thrilled to assist with taking care of your loved one.

My personality traits and expertise that has helped me to be a great caregiver is empathy, my time management, communication, dependable, compassionate, and trustworthy. I've been in the healthcare field for almost 10yrs. My motto is to be the caregiver that I want in the future. I've worked in many nursing homes, assisted living and memory care facilities. When I worked at autumn Leaves as a CNA, I was offered the position as a Life Engagement Specialist. Within my new position, my role included conducting activities and exercises. When I started the exercise routine, I made some changes to make it more fun for everyone. Within 3months, it went from 20% participation to 60%. I've worked with all type of patients and residents and also understand that this change is not only on the client but also effects the family members as well. My goal is to pay it forward for those who are in need.

My current objective is to obtain a position that will utilize my skills and experience. I have successfully performed my job requirements with precision and professionalism. I believe in excellence, and have always dedicated myself to assure successful accomplishments.

I just love being able to take care for others. It puts a smile on my face to be able to make someone else happy. It's important that I can make a difference in someone's life. I also enjoy building cherished memories. Growing up I took care of my great, great grandmother who had dementia and I was there for her until God called her home.
