As of October 4, 2022 I'm current with all COVID-19 vaccine shots and on Oct 4, 2022 I got the newest booster shot. I have been a IP ( Independent Provider ) Hospice/CNA nurse for 10 plus years now after obtaining my license in 2011. But been a caregiver for over twenty years now. My certification includes experience working with Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Cancer, Autism, Mental Health, Nurse Delegation, Sundowner's, Stroke/Brain Bleed, Stroke with AFO brace, Cerebral Palsy, PSP ( Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) and Diabetes. I am CPR certified. I have my own transportation, non smoker, and have a clean driving record. I love working with people, but my passion is to work with senior citizens. I enjoy reading, cooking, scrapbooking, listening to music, love doing puzzles and playing with my three small dogs. I am handy in both house and yard work. The part I love most about what I do is the smiles and enjoyment that I can see on my clients faces from the care and help I give them. My most recent work has consisted of taking care of a ninety-six year old sweet lady with Dementia/cancer. I am very easy to get along with and have a great deal of respect for - not only my elders , but for people - in general. I am a good listener and can relate to or sympathize with most people. I have a warm heart and a good outlook on life. I have a great sense of humor and a good sense of reality. I have a 34 yr old son with cerebral palsy . Whom I have cared for all his life. I started caring for others in 2009 when I began caring for a friend.In later years I worked as a housekeeper in a retirement facility and I got to know the residents and really wanted to help so I became a caregiver in senior care . It made me feel so good helping people out. they really made my day! And it was totally worth it to hear them say I was making theirs! It is a win win . I am proud to help people . Its my nature . I achieved employee of the month in a facility . I was the only one in the year to get it.. I am very work oriented ,but yet fun to have around.. I am reliable and Always on time.

Over 20 yrs experience caring for people of all ages and abilities. 5+ yrs as a CNA in PDX first working in a small facility for people w/ HIV/AIDS then onto temping at LTC Facilities all over PDX. 18 years working for UCP, OR w/ adults w/ CP & intellectual disabilities. 5+ yrs as an "Enhanced Worker" HCW doing in-home care for Aging & Disability Services. Now certified in WA as a HCA to work in-homes. Additional interests & education include: Cosmetology, Naturopathic Assistant & Juice Bar Manager. Study Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan & Meditation. Some massage school experience too. Strong interest in Nutrition and Whole Foods Cooking & Herbs. I believe we are here to help and learn from one another and I chose caregiving because it allows me to really thrive while hopefully uplifting or at least easing the lives of those I work with.

I like to be a caregiver just because it makes me put myself on someone shoes by thinking how I would like others to treat me if I can be in their situations and I feel like even though I'm getting payed how I treat others make me have more blessings

I have been a CNA now for 30 years, I love working with the elderly, I plan on someday going back to school to become a Nurse. For now I want to take a break from Long-term care and do something different for a change

I believe Caregiving is a gift not just a job,I love working with the client as well as with the family so the person can get the best care possible and being in communication with the Doctor(s),I also want to know the person well enough to know if something is different and/or has changed in health and mind state.I love working with a person long term and using my gift of humor and compassion to help improve one's quality of life. I give my all when it comes to my patients and their care. I will always give my patients my 100% with care and making sure their needs are met either by patient care, and or advocating for patients that are not able to address their needs. I will treat each patient with respect and dignity and treat each one as an individual. Caring for my patients is as important as if they were my own family member.
