Over 20 yrs experience caring for people of all ages and abilities. 5+ yrs as a CNA in PDX first working in a small facility for people w/ HIV/AIDS then onto temping at LTC Facilities all over PDX. 18 years working for UCP, OR w/ adults w/ CP & intellectual disabilities. 5+ yrs as an "Enhanced Worker" HCW doing in-home care for Aging & Disability Services. Now certified in WA as a HCA to work in-homes. Additional interests & education include: Cosmetology, Naturopathic Assistant & Juice Bar Manager. Study Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan & Meditation. Some massage school experience too. Strong interest in Nutrition and Whole Foods Cooking & Herbs. I believe we are here to help and learn from one another and I chose caregiving because it allows me to really thrive while hopefully uplifting or at least easing the lives of those I work with.

As a certified nursing assistant I have 22 years of experience working with end of life care such as Hospice, home aid and working with the elderly. I'm patient, kind, reliable and understanding of all situations. I enjoy working with people. I mostly enjoy working jobs where you have personal interaction and getting to people of all different backgrounds. The achievement that im most proud of is being able to care for those who can't care for themselves. I'm also vaccinated.

I believe Caregiving is a gift not just a job,I love working with the client as well as with the family so the person can get the best care possible and being in communication with the Doctor(s),I also want to know the person well enough to know if something is different and/or has changed in health and mind state.I love working with a person long term and using my gift of humor and compassion to help improve one's quality of life. CNA certified. I find great fulfillment in my job as a caregiver. It gives me the opportunity to practise my professional skills as I assist the elderly (and others) in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Most importantly, it always provides a chance for me to keep learning as I strive to meet the needs of each client according to their Careplan.

I became a caregiver because I would like to give back to my community and help those that are in need in anyway shape or form. Ive been a caregiver for 4+ years and I wouldn't trade it for the world. (Its a hobby of mine ).

Am fully Vaccinated with a car and an active insurance . For two years I've enjoyed working with the elderly as well as with people with developmental disabilities; because through them, I've been able to acquire great skills such as being a good listener, good communication skills, kindness, emphatic, reliable, honest, patient, compassionate, calm under pressure, being positive for them and the importance of personal dignity and privacy. In addition to my training as a health care aide and as a certified nursing assistant these has also greatly boosted my skills and qualities of becoming a great caregiver!

I have developed a caring personality with a ability to deeply understand the feelings and needs of patients. Because of my own experience's, healing from my back surgery and caring for my ill wife , I understand how people really feel when they need a helping hand. I also posses a positive attitude and strong work ethic and making a difference in someones life is why I"m a caregiver. My comment is to provide professional care as a Friend, and go the extra mile (like I would want from some one who is caring for me.)

I have worked with elderly for 10yrs. Im presently a certified care giver for the state of oregon which requires a yearly back ground check & finger printing for the state. I have repect for my elders. I do my best to make things as easy and as comfortable for them as possible in there own home. I have assisted many elderly clients during times of need. Im a kind, understanding, honest, respectful & trustworthy caregiver. A mother of 2 very successful children and a loving grandma of 5 with elderly parents whom I care for dearly. Being a caregiver is such an honor - it's all about putting away your needs to assist others. Knowing that a smile on your face can bring joy and happiness to someone else is priceless. The moments when you can reflect back and see how you have helped someone is what caregiving is all about.
