I currently work as an instructor for a disabled-adult's day program in Stockton Ca. It has been an absolute joy to provide care and company for others. I have always enjoyed extending a helping hand to others whenever possible in both my personal and professional life. I always enjoy the company of others and I find it refreshing to have the opportunity to build relationships with such a diverse web of individuals. My greatest enjoyment about care-giving is the impact I am allowed to have on the lives of others. Aside from my professional life, I've always had the opportunity to provide care even in my personal life. My mother has a plethora of health conditions from sever arthritis to being Bi-Polar. My sister and nephew are also also autistic and my spouse also manages Ehlors- Danlos Syndrome. I assist him with daily activities and mobility restraints. I hope to provide excellent care for as many individuals as I can.

Devoting most of my time to the care of someone else is one of the most selfless things someone can do, but it's not only about the time involved. Being able to understand the person you're caring for, knowing their problems, challenges and desires will not only make it easier to care for them, but will undoubtedly improve the relationship you have with each other. Empathy is a big aspect of that, and being able to put yourself in someone else's shoes and be empathetic will only increase the quality of care you're providing. As instrumental as caregivers are, communication is key. It can be something as simple as going through the day's schedule, or complicated as discussing health concerns, but no matter what it is, it must be done well. Subpar communication will do nothing beneficial for the relationship, and in fact, could damage it. Furthermore, as it's likely there's more than one caregiver in the individual's life, and because of all the moving parts, communication is key to get information to all the relevant parties. Whether it's relaying health information or just remaining congenial, communication between caregivers is important, second only to communicating with the individual.

Skills & Certifications: Vision and Eye Disorders, Stroke, Home Care Aide (HCA), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Tracheotomy / Ventilation, Respiratory Disorders, Renal and Urological Disorders, Skin Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, Parkinson's Disease, Palliative Care, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedic Care, Multiple Sclerosis, Hospice Care, Home Health Care, HIV/AIDS, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Hearing Disorders, Diabetes, Depression, Dementia, Cardiovascular Disorders, COPD, Cancer Recovery, Blood Disorders, ALS, Arthritis, Alzheimer's Disease
