I am a caregiver with more than 10 years of experience, I chose to become a senior caregiver is because it comes naturally to the family. I like this field because I am known for my sensitivity, my giving nature and my nurturing desire to help those who need help. l like being a caregiver because it is the most rewarding thing I can do and my passion is to put others first. I am energetic and very social. I know that my compassion will make me a great caregiver because I believe that caregiving is not only about working for the person but making them feel safe and loved. What attracted me to be a caregiver was seeing my kind hearted mom help the elderly as a CNA. She does it with so much joy and that has inspired me. Hello. My name is Amy. I was a fine arts teacher in Texas working with teenagers and adults for 25 years. Seven years ago I moved to California and decided to change careers, working with seniors this time, helping them to have a better quality of life. As a senior caregiver for the last 5 years most of my clients have remained in their homes to receive care, but I've also helped some in assisted living facilities and hospitals. I have experience working with seniors who have had Alzhiemer's disease, dementia, memory impairment, visual and hearing deficits, end stage cancer as well as those who need short term assistance while healing from various injuries and surgeries. I am a very empathetic, kind-hearted and compassionate person who loves to help others. I prefer working part time and daytime shifts. I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I'm currently 24. I graduated 2017 from a music/business college in Pasadena ca. I have my Associates degree now. I'm currently have a cleaning business and I also am a caretaker for children including my twin sisters whom have autism. I love helping people and serving my community, especially people who are elderly, less fortunate, or disabled, that's definitely one of my passions! My mom has an agency for adults who are disabled and she has been doing this since before I was born. I learned from a very young age how to take care of people who are mentally or physically I'll, or disabled by certain experiences I've had with her clients. I also helped take care of my grandma years ago up until she passed from cancer. Shortly after when my grandpa was sick I took care of him up until I left for college. When I graduated college he got sicker, So I back in Oakland take care of him and unfortunately he is niw deceased. I also took care of my mom while she was battling cancer and she passed a few years ago, she was my grandpa's original caretaker but I took over after she passed. One of the best achievements I'm proud of is saving my grandpas life by changing his diet and staying on top of his meds, he almost passed in December of 2017, he did a whole he did a whole 180. The doctors gave him a certain amount of time to live but he did surpass it. He wasn't walking or talking, and being tube fed. His conditions were diabetes and congestive heart failure, but my sister and I did research on his condition, hired him changed his got him in physical, and speech therapy. He eventually was able to stop the tube feedings and eat regular food. Since I know a lot about health and certain health conditions that others might not know about I like to share my knowledge and help save lives the best I can. Some of my dreams are to own multiple businesses serving the community and to be a singer.
