I Hello ! I'm Janet and I've been in nursing for 25 years . I was a CNA for 5 years and have been a CMT for 20 years . I worked as a supervisor of an Assisted Living facility for the last 15 years .I decided to become a caregiver when my father needed end of life care . The girls that took care of my dad made things a lot easier on my father and my family as well..so much so that I decided to become one of those girls ! I love what I do and I treat my clients with respect and dignity . I believe this type of work is more than just a job . I put my heart into what I do !

I have been a care giver all my life beginning with taking care of my dad when he was at the end stage of life. I dedicated myself to his wellbeing and provided hospice type care for three years. That is where my passion began for caring for the elderly and those who cannot care for themselves. I then began working at a nursing home and gained my CNA, which provided me with greater knowledge of home care for indivuals. I truly care for the person I assist and go the extra mile to make sure they are cared for in a loving and safe manner. I have a unique gift to get along and am able to communicate with many different types of indivuals.

I have been a medication technician (CMT) for four years, I administer medications per facility, state and federal law/guidelines by practicing inside my scope. I am also insulin & CPR certified by the state of Missouri and American Heart association. I am comfortable with administering insulin medication, subQ and orally. I am a nursing candidate at Mineral Area College, I have had ECG training along with the knowledge of A&P, Microbiology, Medical Terminology I & II, so I have a good grasp and understanding on how the medications and insulin works and what signs & symptoms to watch for. I was a C.N.A for 16 years and performed all duties of a certified nurses aide to allowable state and federal guidelines. I assisted with ADL's per family, staff and patient request. I have taken care of family members, like my grandmother until she passed when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2017. I have been witness to horrible diseases, genetic and acquired. I have held the hands of people ready to cross over and begin their next journey into the afterlife. Caring for others can sometimes be challenging because people are hard to please, but it's those of us who keep trying and find a way to pacify others that separates us from the rest. I became a caregiver for many reasons but mainly because of my passion for the job I love to help the elderly and I am good at it. My father inspired me to take care of elders he was very I'll I had to change his colposcopy bags, clean out his stomach it was terrifying but I loved to take care of him. I learned a lot about the need that older people need it showed me a lot of new things that I didn't know how to do. I am very out going I love being a companionship for older people. I love working and caring for others
