what makes me a great caregiver I believe its a gift I've always wanted to be a Registered Nurse couldn't afford it so I did the next best thing I worked in Nursing homes, Hospitals, and clinics I learned from some of the best nurses and doctors around, my mother was a nurse for 30 years. what I love about being a caregiver is I love people and I love seeing and helping people live a full and independent life. I have several life achievements, but raising four awesome children and helping raise 16 grand and 27greatgrand children and helping my 89 year old mom live and enjoy life is more then I could ever do and am still going strong.

Hi I'm Andrea I want to tell you a little about me. I'm 37 and Married with a stepdaughter who I call my own. We have a cat named Jaspurr. We are located in Norman, Oklahoma. I believe my personality traits that would make me a great caregiver are openness to feelings, straightforwardness(being "frank, sincere, and ingnous") Warmth (being affectionate and friendly) Postive emotions, Competence, Outgoing, Willing to communicate with all parties involved with the person I'm caring for. Patience and understanding. I'm very outgoing and love to talk and learn new things. What attracted me to being a caregiver is from August of 2003 to May of 2004 I took a CNA Class and worked a few short months at the Arbor House in Mustang before getting married for the first time. I moved out of state and did not continue to follow a dream I had of becoming an RN so I have decided to do caregiving and work my way to an RN. I wanted to help those in need and felt that was what attracted me to doing caregiving. What I enjoy most about caregiving is helping those that need it most and for families to be able to not stress or worry about loved ones knowing they have someone like me that can keep their loved ones taken care of and keep them company and just someone to sit with them and listen to stories and many other things. A personal achievement for me is owning my very first brand new car 2021 Kia Rio. I feel another achievement for me is all the training I have taken the time to do on MyCNA Jobs and plan to do more. I have lots of certificates if you have any questions regarding any training please feel free as I was not able to add them to my profile. I'm working on trying to take another CNA class. I however am trained as a caregiver and have many other certifications that I could not add.I have several different certifications. I am a compassionate individual with a big heart. My goal is to make a difference in the lives that I touch as I am invited into someone's home to care for their loved one. I believe in being organized, compassionate, loving, and bringing joy to those who are chronically or terminally ill. My passion to become a caregiver, started with becoming a hospice nurse. As a result, I have formed special relationships with families' of patient's that I once care for. I enjoy being able to go home at the end of the day knowing that I made someone smile. The one thing I am most proud of, is being able to share a part of me with a complete stranger and being able to make memories that will last a lifetime for that person.

I have always taken responsibility of maintaining and establishing order in the home and work environment. Growing up my mother worked two full time jobs, and I naturally stepped in to take care of household needs at the age of 12. I have 5 children of my own, so it's a passion of mine to help even if it's to direct and give the individual the independence they need. I have learned that I enjoy caring for people of all ages whether it be with a healthy meal, a clean and orderly space, or just to listen to their hearts. A personal achievement is that I am not limited to a set career. I have an accounting degree and have worked in different jobs while mostly being a stay at home mom. I've also invested my time to helping others start their own businesses. I focus on whole health with body, mind, and spirit. I believe that we must put good things into ourselves as well as speak good things into our lives. I have studied a lot over the years in nutrition for my family and friends. I cook from scratch with clean ingredients and always ask questions about the gut and digestive system of the individual to better their health with a good meal. I have a friend that has a Nutritionist and I have helped her in the kitchen with healthy meals because a Nutritionist does not always give you a step by step guidance in your new direction. I do lead a small prayer/study group at church. Encouraging and speaking life into one another to faithfully get through difficult times.

I am friendly, kind caring, loving individual. I have 2 children who are 16 & 14. I am easy to get along with. I enjoy being able to help the elderly on a one-on-one basis. I learn a lot from them and I enjoy listening to them. I have been doing this since 2000 off and on.
