I love working with people. I also love making my clients feel as we are family and we connect a special bond. Becoming a caregiver was my very first job and it was something I always enjoy doing.

My name is Marvin Freeman and I'm a 34 year old nursing student. I knew growing up I would always help people because that's what I've done most of my life. I help my mom with my four brothers growing up. Care giving doesn't feel like a job it's more like something I've done my entire life. It comes natural to want to help others. When I can look someone on the eyes and know that they are truly glad that someone cares for them is what my life purpose is. I proud to say in a year I will be a nurse. I feel that will give me the tools to help make a difference in the world .

I am a nurturer by nature. I get a sense of fulfillment when caring for others. One trait that sets me aside would be my ability to meet each individual client where they are in their current state, remembering no two are the same. After working inpatient transportation within a hospital for years, I saw there was a greater need for me at the bedside. I always seem to be able to connect with the patients and that is what prompt me to go to school and become a CNA. Becoming a certified nursing assistant was one of my greatest accomplishments. It is a career I enjoy, I am never bored and I always feel there will be a need for me.

I have experience taking care of couples as well as individuals, men, and women. I love dogs and have one at home. I do not take clients who smoke. I like the day or night shift, and I am available for work overnights for 8-12 hour shifts either in a home or in a facility. Also available days but I do not burn the candle at both ends. The age of my clientele has ranged from 3 to 104. Wherever you are I can go to get to you. If you are in a facility and you want me there I can be there. I am a huge advocate for my clients and I have a zero tolerance policy for maltreatment or neglect. I also will not allow anyone to exploit or abuse a client without reporting it to the proper authorities. I have advanced training in Alzheimer's and dimentia as well as Occupational Therapy degree holder as of December 2019 I am currently taking on new clients.

I'm a very caring respectful trustworthy loyal person. I give anything I do 100% no matter what it is. I love working with and caring for people no matter what the situation. I just love putting a smile on people face and showing them that they are loved. I believe that everyone deserves to have happiness and should be given the upmost respect.

I have been a lover of the profession of nursing for many years I continue to pursue my dream to become a registered nurse by taking part time classes as my schedule permits. I am a single mother of a teen daughter and a cat lover. I have a compassion for caring for people in need. I love what I do and do it in a manner with which my heart is at peace when I go home. I believe it is the purpose for which God has blessed me with on this earth.

All my life I have been a service-oriented person-a people person. I feel that this is the talent that God gave to me. When I was in high school and trying to decide whether to be a nurse or a teacher, I leaned toward nursing. I won an Elks Scholarship which I used at Greenville General School of Nursing in Greenville, S.C. I did not complete my studies there but the groundwork was laid. For a few years, I devoted myself to my family and worked at other types of jobs when I needed to work. After my second daughter turned four, I began a Nurse's Aide course at the local vocational school. I was hired, that fall, at the brand new nursing home which as built in Union. While working at Oakmont of Union (renamed Heartland), I earned monetary bonuses every six months for perfect attendance. I accomplished that for several years. They printed an article in their newsletter about me and my perfect attendance record. In 1984, while working at Oakmont of Union, I began classes at Rutledge College in Spartanburg, S.C. During the two years I attended there, I worked first shift at Oakmont, donated plasma twice a week and maintained a 4.0 GPA. Upon graduation, I received an Associate's Degree in Applied Science (the course was called Medical Administrative Assistant). When I work with a patient, I prefer the home setting where I can concentrate on just that one patient and give that person my undivided attention. I like to leave feeling good about the care I gave
