Hello I am looking for employment associated with UHC/CareLinx program. I am a mature adult, reliable and trustworthy. I have chosen the caregiving field for a few reasons. First, because of the need and who does not want to feel needed? I do. Second, there is a satisfaction to helping those who cannot do for them selves as they once did. Helping fill basic needs and deeds. I have feeling for elderly people they are of value to all of us in a lot of ways. I'm sure those who are searching for caregivers feel the same. I am fully vaccinated against Covid 19 , but I have no problem wearing a mask if requested .

I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver for over 20 yrs. I am compassionate and understand the importance of meeting the needs of clients while helping them maintain a high quality of life. I truly enjoy the one on one and getting to know the person and building a trust with them. The smile on there face is priceless. To know there needs without verbal communication at times are being met. I enjoy taking on some of the responsibilities that families are not always able to take on due to there schedules. A personal achievement of mine was when I worked with an individual who was non verbal and he had a lot of behaviors and he could be very mean. I spoke to him and treated him like he was the same as everyone else. I cooked a special dinner for him and made it all homemade from scratch and he watched me make the whole meal. When I served him he looked at me took a bite then reached over and grabbed my arm gently and kissed my arm and he smiled so big. It took about a month to get that acceptance from him. When he finally accepted me it made me tear up. I felt so accomplished because this guy ran off so many Direct support Professionals. I felt as though I could do anything because of the wonderful feeling of gratitude and gratefulness that I received from that individual.

I have always enjoyed helping other people live their lives to the fullest extent possible. I have compassion for the elderly and disabled and my goal is make their lives easier and more fulfilling for as long as possible. I have a personal commitment to making people as comfortable as they can be when they are ill or experiencing any condition that causes them to require in-home care.

I like to think I'm a good care giver because I have compassion. I'm very honest and trustworthy and I love to get to know new people. You can always learn so many things from are elders if we all just take the time to stop and listen to them. I have been a provider for 6 years now and I wouldn't want to work doing anything else.
