What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves. I have a broad range going from helping those with terminal illnesses all the way to those who just need extra assistance around the house. There is no job too big or too small for me to do.

I have been in the nursing field for over 10 years and have been a home health aid for 6 years. Hello I'm Kate! I'm currently a Sophomore nursing major at Plattsburgh State University. I have a lot of experience working with the elderly from my job at the Teresian House in Albany, NY and from helping my 92 year old grandmother. I'm CPR certified, and am a Certified Feeding Assistant. As a part of my fall semester, I am currently doing clinical rotations in a local nursing home to gain more experience. I will be in home from college Dec 16th- Jan 24th and again May 18th- August 24th. I love working with the elderly population and I am proud to say I am quite good at what I do!

I am a compassionate and caring person. I was a hospice volunteer for a year in Oneonta when I was attending Hartwick College. I recently graduated and started working at a daycare until I became a nanny. I love working closely with people and building a trustworthy relationship. I am capable of learning new things quickly. I enjoy helping others because it is the type of work I don't get tired of. A personal achievement I am proud of is graduating from college this past May. I worked hard for 4 years and was proud of my grades. I joined different clubs and organizations that i succeeded in as well.

I am 22 years old and graduated from Hartwick College very recently. I am a very caring, responsible and dedicated worker. I always wanted to work in the public health area because I am passionate about finding new ways to help others in need. I was a Hospice Volunteer in college for about 5 months, I was able to see what it is like for somebody who is sick to live in a hospital. From what I saw, it was depressing and lonely. I provided my patient with different activities to keep her distracted and happy. I was able to connect with her over a short period of time and that is what made me feel accomplished. I hope to be able to get a chance to care for somebody and help a family in need out.

I became a caregiver to help those who need help. I love to see the client/patient regain their independence. Some do not recover however, and making them comfortable is very important to me. When I do my job properly and the patient is content and happy.
