I, Shonita Badillo became a caregiver because I love working with the elderly and, sick. Caregiving has always been my passion because, when I was a teenager I cared for my grandmother. I enjoy being a caregiver because, it gives me joy to see a smile on my clients face, and, also I feel I can bring a lot to their life such as understanding patience and, compassion. I feel I have achieved experience over the last 15 years. As I continue to work as a caregiver I feel more confident that I know my job and, that I can relate to my clients better. I have 15 years of experience as a certified nursing assistant. I have worked in a hospitals nursing homes and, private homes. My future plans is to futher my nursing experience. I hope to find a nice family to work for because I feel I have a lot to bring to a patients life. My availability is working days part time or fulltime.

As child, I grew up in a house hold with my elders. We took care of them and even though it was required of me, I always enjoyed it as my way of saying thank you. I make a great care giver because I understand what it is to need someone to be there for and sometimes just with you. In the days we live in, there is little to no love in the world for younger people, that leaves not such a great outlook for our elders so, as I am able and capable I love to put my hand to the ploy and help where there is a need. I enjoy being able to be there with my client to give them peace of mind, knowing they are in good hands.

I became a caregiver because when my mother was sick with stage 4 colon cancer, I would help the caregiver who was helping take care of my mom. I would see how she took her time with her and she didn't even know her! There is not a lot of people out here that have that integrity and I loved her for that. So much that I now have become the best caregiver that I can be.

I have worked in various setting such as, Adult Trauma & Pediatric Unit in ER , Brain and Spinal Injury, Alzheimer/Dementia, MICU, SICU, PACU, Telemetry,Labor & Delivery, Ante and Post Partum, NICU, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, ICU, Nursing Homes and In Home Care. What I enjoy most is being able to fulfill a patients needs to the best of my ability. Most families I've cared for says I go beyond my duties. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of elder family members and I like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel I can get along well with a variety of elders.
