I just recently retired from Job Corps after working there 20+ years taking care of at risk youth in a residential setting. My story : I was raised for a short period of time by My great nana and uncle . When they became sick, they were moved into hospice care. I recall doing everything I could to brighten their spirits and provide them happiness and peace. But at those moments, I discovered my calling and purpose. Working with the elderly senior generation now has the same implications. Working with each family, I offer the same comfort, love, and peace. I find myself caring for this generation as if they were my own family. My goal with each family is to constantly provide light to each individuals I serve. After graduating high school I worked for hospice care for 2 years before taking a much needed break, (it hurt to much when it was there time to move on). Almost 6 years ago I went back to the same company but chose home health care instead . I worked with them 3 years as a special attendant. The rules became a headache to keep up with their contestant changing so I decided to go elsewhere. My current employer I have been with for almost 3 years. I am a hard worker and I learn fast. I have experience with most medical equipment including: hoyer lift -auto/manual, catheters/cholostomy bags, blood pressure cuffs/pulse ox/thermometers, oxygen machine and portable oxygen bottles, walkers and wheelchairs/electric scooters , bed alarms and hospital beds, etc. I do document visits with clients so families will be able to refer to book for any questions or concerns they may have about any shift, past or current.
